1st time here, lots of classic NY deli options. EXCELLENT homemade potato pancake! Got the Rueben and wasn't disappointed.... Friend got the Triple Threat (3 minis: corned beef, pastrami and brisket). Looked good but a lot of bread to eat in one sitting.Be sure to get some desserts from the bakery on your way out because you will be stuffed from your meal but shouldn't miss outon them. Read more
Took my grand papa for lunch. They sat us down in a few minutes after we arrive and food came out tasting amazing. It the... perfect low key delicious food. That lean roast beef with Ajou was amazing with max and Benny house mustard. Afterward we wentnext door and order some hand cut nova to go. Loved this place, ordered a Reuben which was fantastic. I was told the coleslaw was great but I thought it was okay. The pickles... weren’t very crispy either. The potato pancakes were think and dry, and I didn’t think the chicken broth soups were anythingspecial. So overall, I thought most of the food was average, but the sandwiches were amazing. The perfect place if you are looking for a Jewish Deli. You can't go wrong with soup and a sandwich. Everything else is good... too. It is nice to be able to get breakfast all day long too. Today two of us got breakfast and one sandwich. The cornedbeef hash was very good. The lox hoppel popped was enjoyable and every bit of it was eaten. Here for the Matzo (Matzah) Ball soup! Happy that two excellent sizes of Matzo Balls came with a regular-sized order of hearty... chicken broth soup. You can tell by the texture and taste that the Matzo Balls are freshly made. The Fried Matzo looked like agood option as well. Service is friendly, speedy, excellent. You can tell a majority of the customers are regulars and havebuilt a friendship amongst the staff. A lot of sweet baked goods I will pick up next visit. Read more
I'm very glad I finally got around to dining here. Max and Benny's did not disappoint. Very highly acclaimed Jewish Delicatessen... and restaurant. The photo is of the Noshers Delight which was excellent. One of Corned Beef and the other Pastrami served onpotato pancakes. The Corned Beef was good but I thought the Pastrami was better. Looks like not much has changed with the customer service. I had stopped eating here after getting an ANT in my salad but... figured I would give it one more shot since it's been a couple years. Tried to add a salad onto a catered order but was toldthey couldn't take an order over the phone. They did say I could order in person but again NOT over the phone. Who says thatwhen a customer had already placed an order? To a person who says literally - we've considered trying you out again, all we needis a salad. Nope. Syd, I wish you the best but work on your customer relation skills and before the retort, yes it's a busy dayb/c of the holiday but life doesn't always come at us how we want.
