My daughter and I went on vacation in this area. It's not too far from the beach. We were looking for sushi places and found... this on Yelp. They have a great selection of sushi. It's all super fresh and tasty. It's a small place so their seating islimited, but we never had a problem finding a seat. The overall rating you see now for Ichiban was built with love by the previous owners who have likely since retired. Back when... Osaka in the Hamilton Mall was good and especially back when Ichiban was first established five years ago- we had a wonderfulgem in the area for amazing sushi. The new owners seem friendly enough but the quality of the food and preparation are nowherenear what you were able to find here. Sushi burritos have been continued but it lacks texture, garnish and flavor. Trying thespider roll, soft shell crab + salmon sushi burrito, everything just seemed less than half-baked and had a strong resemblance ofgarbled leftover fish. If all you're craving is a California roll, they sell that here. I really dislike giving poor reviews tolocal shops and restaurants but those expecting what used to be, will only be disappointed. The restaurant that sits here hasbuilt a popularity that already has a customer base. If the owners continue to serve whatever it is that they're serving now,they'll push away the momentum that was built for them. Nice little sushi place with the typical counter to sit, eat and watch the magic. Quality was excellant. Sushi was well... sliced, trimmed and presented. The rolls were also tasty and well presented. The woman behind the counter was nice and veryhelpful. No alcohol but still, highly recommended. Read more
I ordered combo #2 which includes The California roll, The spicy tuna crispy roll and The crispy shrimp roll. I also ordered a... soft shell crab sushi burrito which was very great! Not sure what people are talking about. Yes there is new owners and yes the prices are slightly higher but this sushi is way... better than sushi town and what ichiban used to offer. The tuna and salmon were very fresh. Read more
