I wanted to try the new location on 43 because I love the one on Skyland. This was a mistake. First I walk in and say hello to... the cashier and am greeted with "Over there" as he points to the hostess with his phone. Okay young guy I get it, then we getseated and drink orders taken, chips and salsa arrive and we get to place our order. There are only 3 other tables on our side.My partner orders a margarita and we are asked if we would like more chips and salsa to which we said yes. 15 minutes later nodrink no refill of chips and salsa. Our server finally comes over and asks if we received the margarita and said he would gomake it he asked again if we would like chips and salsa to which we said no. He brings the margarita but still no food foranother 15 minutes. We ordered fajitas for 2 and when it arrived the plate was not sizzling as it usually is and the food lookedlike it had been cooked earlier and warmed up. The meat had no flavor and the color of the beef was a pasty brown. The veggieshad no char or crispness from being cooked in usual fajita fashion. I can understand things going wrong in a new restaurant butlazy service and bland food when you are not busy is unacceptable. I have worked in the food industry for many years and I willcontinue to visit Los Tarascos on Skyland but for Mexican in Northport I will choose Jalepeno's and Dos Amigos because everyexperience I have had there has always been pleasant. The new location is beautiful but the booths were the worst purchase a business could ever make. They are not comfortable or... made for anyone who isn?t smaller than 5?7 to sit at. The best thing about this place is the hand made blueberry margaritas. Sitat a table and avoid the booths at all cost. Read more

Went for dinner after seeing so many good ratings. Have to say the food was okay, not very flavorful. We were disappointed. ... Service was good though and price was fine. Read more

We actually ended up here by mistake thinking we were heading to a different restaurant that we had been to before, but it... looked nice so we gave it a chance. Glad we did. Very delicious! Read more

I've always liked the food but just got done eating here and noticed a 4% surcharge for paying with a card. Fortunately I have... cash but often use a debit card and it's ridiculous to charge extra for it. I realize the card processor charges a fee but thatneeds to figured into their costs. Are they going to start charging extra for napkins next?!? Read more

This is my favorite Mexican place so far. The ingredients are fresh and the salsa and Pico are certainly not from a jar. I am... not giving it 5 stars because I still remember and miss the local Mexican place in Decatur, AL. Compared to that place, theChimichangas in the Tuscaloosa area are dry because they contain mostly meat and don't contain the saucy stuff with the onionsand peppers. Read more
