My wife and I stopped in for a late lunch last Saturday. We moved away from Long Island several years ago and we were pleasantly... surprised to find our way to the recently remodeled Skippers. The place is bright and cheerful with an elegant feel. We choseto eat at the bar where there are also tables and booths nearby, all with a view of the harbor marina. Very nice! The menu isupdated with many upscale culinary delights to explore alongside more standard pub fare that provides comfort when needed. Ourbartender Ryan took excellent care of us and we enjoyed watching him make a number of signature cocktails with some very exotichome made ingredients and special garnishes. Since it was already after 1:00 and we were headed to a big birthday party in theevening, we decide to split a panini. Ryan took care of that without a problem and the kitchen plated it separately for uswithout any extra charge. The food was delicious and the memory of our afternoon spent at Skippers is awesome. If you’revisiting from out of town or a local that hasn’t been since the remodel, get there as soon as you can; lunch or dinner. It’sa great experience. Read more

Good and not so good... We were able to get a table ahead of our reservation time, but sat for nearly 10 minutes (with our... toddler) before tracking down a server...asking whoever we could get the attention of if they were our server, only to be toldby two that they weren't...with no offer to get us anything, only to check to see who our server was...and one of them ended upbeing our server after all. Food was good. Only surprising thing was that the pasta on the kids menu was spaghetti, with nooffer of alternatives...not an easy pasta for young kids to eat (pasta on appetizer menu was listed as something more easilygrabbed with a fork - odd). Atmosphere was excellent and it located in a area where it's fun too. The cucumber martini is a must try. The bread with the... dips and olive oil so delicious. I have no complains of the food. Will be going again. Read more

I’ve eaten at the new revamped Skippers 3 times and I’ll be back. The food, drinks and service are, in my opinion, great.... The old Skippers felt very tired and the food was not very good. This one is more worthy of its prime location. My onlycomplaint is that some items on the menu are way too pricey for the quality or quantity. I shouldn’t spend $100 and leavehungry. What I do eat, I definitely enjoy. I have to say though, fix the calamari. I appreciate the creativity in the menu butthat one’s a swing and a miss. Read more

Service was good but the food was not. Ordered oysters and the ice was completely melted by the time it was served so the... oysters were sitting in water. Burger for the kids was ordered medium but was well done when served. My $8 beer was served in aplastic cup. The renovations are really nice and the atmosphere is great but the food is extremely sub-par, especially given howmuch they charge. This place has real potential but will not be going back any time soon. Read more

12/26/21 Came around 3ish--not too crowded Sweet waitress and nice patrons ???? The lobster bisque was tasty! Just so you... know...the lobster is minced and there are no big pieces of lobster to chew on. That was slightly disappointing @ minced lobsterbits (or whatever it may have been--could have been pork fat). Read more

First time in the recently renovated Skippers. They spared no expense and the place is beautiful inside. Especially the bar side... of the restaurant. The food has always been good, but now it’s first rate. The tuna nachos, French onion soup, burger and fish& chips were all great and exactly how you want them to be at a restaurant & pub by the water in a quaint area like NorthportVillage. Service was great as our server is a local that has worked there for years. When you’re wishing you were inGreenport, Newport or Edgartown, head to Skippers for lunch and dinner to scratch your water-side, summer retreat restaurantitch. Read more
