It's a nice restaurant but honestly didn't surprised me. I went here for my birthday. I got a Pipeline burger, the flavor of... the meat and the chilli were good but the bun was too thick. We had a Kilauea burger and it was not so good since it wassupposed to have jalapeno peppers and didn't find any, or didn't taste any chipotle aioli. The onion rings and fries weregood. They gave me a small dish of ice cream for my birthday Wich was nice but honestly I wouldn't come back because I thinkthe bread overwhelms the burgers. It wasn't a busy night but the food did take a little long to come, maybe they were shortstaffed but I didn't really mind. Read more

Really great food, fantastic service, easy parking, huge menu. They get super busy on the weekend. Don't want to wait? Great... tip is to eat in the bar area. Worked really well for me plus I got to watch surfing and football at the same time. Theseasonal strawberry salad is loaded with chicken, super tasty with the almonds, loved the dressing. Finally decided to get morefries.... no more bottomless fries. I'm too late. Stores nearby. If you eat too much you can walk it off. Read more

We came here after our daughters award ceremony at Cal State Northridge. It was first time at this location and haven?t been to... a Islands Restaurant in 20 years. We were seated right away. We ordered drinks including 2 margaritas and were not great. I hadall you can eat chicken tortilla soup and I had 3 bowls. Everyone else got hamburgers. We started with nacho appetizer which wasgood! The service was a bit lacking. We were disappointed a few times, the food was okay and overall so-so experience Read more

This Islands is what you typically expect from the chain. It's a surf themed restaurant, burgers and fish taco thing going... on. Take it or leave it, that's why I gave them three stars. During the lunch crowd you'll get a lot of office workers thatcome in here in the neighboring area. Early dinner crowd is more of a family place, couples date night vibe. The Bar: Don'texpect any kind of singles scene here. It could happen, total fluke kind of thing, like if it was somebody's birthdayparty??? Came in today for the Happy Hour specials. Nice choices both for food and beverages. Beachside Sliders: if you tookall three of them and can bind them together, it would be about the size of a regular burger. You do have to specify if you wantcheese or not, which cost about a dollar extra. I do like the crunch of the fried onions, and the burger was tasty. Problem hereis that they are really thin, so they cook too fast. One of them was medium, and the other two were probably closer to welldone. Island Nachos: Need to specify if you want chicken added for $2 more. They we're like buying tortilla chips at themarket, then throwing sliced processed cheese on top. Nothing fancy. It does come with a dollop of sour cream and a dollop ofguacamole. Service: Our bartender was on point, really helpful, made a few suggestions. Nachos and Sliders took about 20minutes to serve though, and the place was at 40% capacity. So does it really take that long to throw food on the plate that'sprobably already precooked anyway???? Parking lot is free and Big. Might come back here, might not. It would have to be forsome birthday party or something. ;) Read more

A great place for dinner with a date or friends to watch sports and eat some delicious burgers or etc. My fiancée and I came... here tonight since we were shopping in the plaza. The wait was about 15 minutes while there was 5 parties ahead of us but theywould send a text when our table is ready. We overheard the manager telling someone outside that they were short staff due to noshow or waiter calling in sick. We got seated within 15 minutes and the service was awesome, you just have to be understandingwith the whole situation. Certain things like waiting for check or refills might take longer than usual but just talk to theperson with you to burn time. I got the 9 piece spicy buffalo wings and my fiancée got her Shorebirds burger with cheddarfries. My wings were okay and my fiancée loved her dish. The food didn't take long to come out and I was able to watch theLakers game. Read more

First attempt at the Islands in Porter Ranch- I?ve been trying different locations since Simi Valley closed. Placed a to go... order, and am definitely disappointed. Ordered the quesadilla as an appetizer, received no salsa or sour cream which isstandard with the order, and Tiki Tenders with honey mustard and ranch- no ranch received. Two entrees, the Toucan and BigWave?received sandwiches but no standard fries. Food was ok?but not what I?m used to from the Islands the Toucan bread wasburnt as was the chicken, the Big Wave was a little under done, but still good. Tiki Tenders we?re perfect. I always tip 50%of order on to gos (since working in the industry I know people are cheap on tipping with to go orders), with the hopes that theorder will at least be correct. I usually always enjoy anything we get from the Islands, even carry out, but this time it was abust. Not worth the time and drive :(. Sure miss the Simi location! Read more
