Traveling from Richmond va to Pigeon forge Tn decided to go see The Overlook and stay a night in Big Stone Gap. Looked for a... place to eat. This was the first one to pop up. At first we were hastened because of the name. But im so glad we did. All fourof our plates were empty when we left. Our waitress Lydia (I think that's what she said her name was) was amazing. Stopped on our travels hoping this would be a good restaurant as all the others in town were not appealing. The Wood Booger... Grill was okay. My husband liked his burger and my coconut shrimp were good. The rest of the meal was horrible. The sweet potatofries were rubbery and greasy. The coleslaw while it had a good taste was warm. The bacon wrapped tatertots were over cooked.The waitress never came back to check on us. Seemed all of the waitresses were busy eating with their families and playing withtheir kids. Good burgers. Nice portions. Great atmosphere. Alexis was a fantastic waitress! The hostess was a lil unfriendly and... inconsiderate. She did not wait for our entire party to get thru the door before she took off to seat us. But that did not ruinour evening. Definitely recommend and return. Read more
I had heard about this place and when we came up we had to try it. It seems like a hole in the wall but trust me, it was worth... the drive! We both had a burger. His was the fried Mac & cheese burger and mine was the hangover with a fried egg on top.Gracious it was good! If you?re in the area, make sure you stop in for a bite. Read more
While visiting some friends in VA we went out to find something to eat on Christmas Eve. I know, stupid. But we found this place... open. We are SO GLAD that we did! The food was unbelievable! The staff was super friendly! And there was no wait time (that mayhave been because of the day). I cant say enough about this place! I look forward to going back every time we visit our friends. Really really good food. Steak was prepared exactly as asked and very flavorful. Chicken was also excellent. Waitress was... very accommodating and pleasant. Prices are a touch high but that's the way everything is these days. If you pay cash theytake a couple bucks off your bill. Seating is nice, lighting could be a bit better.
