I give Enchanted Szechuan a very full 5 Stars. This is the best authentic Chinese food for I don't know how many miles, but it... seems like the best Szechuan Chinese restaurant west of Beijing, and I seek out Chinese food wherever I go. I have dined herefor lunch and dinner over the past 2 years, and it is always top notch authentic Chinese. The ingredients are all separatelytasted with the fresh home cooking. The restaurant has added waitstaff so service is very good now. The head waiter Luke isexcellent and was well trained by Tai who is missed very much. Hardly anyone on the waitstaff speaks English but they know whatyou are asking for and that is all part of the charm for this wonderful restaurant. The chef lady is most excellent with herinterpretation of the traditional dishes. It is Szechuan which is the spicy hot, but the normal hot is perfect and they cantone down almost any dish to bland if that's your preference. Read more

Ty (sp?) was our server and he was very knowledgeable about the dishes. The dishes were spicy enough to be tasty but not... overwhelming. The spicy boiled fillet fish dish was really tasty and had a good kick to the spice and the vegetables wereedible (unlike most other places which makes this dish way too spicy). The dry pepper fried chicken (small chicken pieces) wasvery crispy and not oily. Flavorful with a crunch. It was not too spicy as well. We also got the mapo tofu, which traditionallycomes with minced pork. We did not realize the dish on the menu did not have pork in it so Ty suggested it and asked whether wewanted it. He was very thoughtful and made sure the dish came out the way we wanted to. Note: We ordered “traditional”spice level (Aka very spicy) for all our dishes. Fun fact: Ask Ty to tell you a fun fact about the wall mural which was mostlycovered over with brick wall paper. ;) Read more

Absolutely top tier. I always order my Chinese food extra extra spicy and I'm always left disappointed, but Enchanted Szechuan... consistently delivers. They'll make it as spicy as you want it, and no matter the spice level the food is always delicious. Read more

I personally feel that they're keeping the food authentic (hope I'm not wrong). Don't go overboard with choosing their extra... spicey option. It can hit you hard. Being Indian, my tolerance for spice is on the higher side and for me their "traditional"level of spice is perfect. Read more

DO NOT OVERLOOK THIS PLACE!!! NEXT LEVEL SPICE AND FLAVOR!!! NOT YOUR RUN OF THE MILL "American- Chinese"!! The nicest staff... I've ever encountered! kitchen, wait staff, and owner checked on our table often as we completely devoured everything we'dordered. For spicy lovers: Order traditional level spice or above (Great place for a "Let's see who folds first" spicychallenge) They've got the good stuff! For Flavor lovers: Order ANYTHING The chili oil sauce that bathes the "dumplings inchili oil" should be sold by the bottle...as a drink...it's that good. Next time you're in SoNo and looking for flavor & arelaxed ambiance, STOP IN! Read more

Holy cow, this place was incredible! Found it as a recommendation on Reddit. We got a lot of food because we couldn’t decide... what to try and it was all amazingly tasty. Our server (forget his name) was very helpful as well. We got the dumplings in chilioil and steamed buns for appetizers; my partner got dry pot chicken (so tender!) and I got the tofu fish filet (chef’sspecial). The tofu was very very hot and I burned my tongue, but that was my fault. We also tried the Dan Dan noodles at theserver’s recommendation (do try them! The peanut and spice flavors were great). All of the dishes were perfect and unique. Wewill be back. Read more
