Hands down, the best place around for vegan food. I eat anything but I also appreciate a good and flavorful vegan meal and this... place didn't disappoint. The Bay bowl was delicious, the lentil burger was very tasty and firm (not soggy like other places),their honey smoothie was the very best. The service was top notch, super friendly and helpful. My husband and I moved to the Bay Area from Laguna Beach last year. One of the saddest parts of leaving laguna was saying... goodbye to our favorite dinner spot, Active Culture! We attempted multiple times to recreate their bowls at home with minorsuccess. When they opened the Novato location we could not believe it!! We?ve made the 45 minute trek from Walnut Creek toNovato on multiple occasions for the Wholesome Bowl and LB Rice Bowl (I think it?s called the Bay Bowl at this location). Soooogood! Such a treat to have a healthy alternative in Southern Novato without having to go downtown! It's nestled between Marin Coffee... Roasters and Boca Pizza where the space museum used to be. Great friendly staff with a lot of variety. I'll definitely be backto sample the rest of the menu. Read more

This is the one healthy place my kids actually like and want to... come back to over and over again so I have no issue listening to my children?s demand when it comes to this place. Marin County doesn't typically have lots of good food options, especially for younger folks - but Active Culture is an amazing... addition! Their Hanalei Bowl is one of the best açaí bowls I've ever had, and they do have a handful of good vegan options.They also offer curbside which is a big plus. My only wish is that they would lower their prices a tiny bit. It is on the priceyside for the type of dining (fast-casual/to-go) especially considering that tipping is very much pushed on you.
