Great food, great delivery price (free or $1), timely service. They get 4 stars because I have struggled to get added to their... rewards program and, having spent about $900 on bbq catering this summer, I really wish I was a rewards customer. The food is 5stars, the tech is 3 stars... The brisket and pork are both excellent, only once has the brisket been dry. I generally geteither the brisket or pork. Coleslaw, mac n cheese and creamed spinach are all good sides, we usually get mostly coleslaw andmac, since the kiddos love the mac. Read more
Unfortunately my review echos one of the most recent ones too. First time trying this place too. Our food was tasty and seasoned... well, it made it home warm, and service was prompt & friendly. But we were given no sauce and I was never asked. For a BBQplace, sauce is a must, otherwise it?s just seasoned meat! Somehow we got a thing of pickles but no sauce. Also my Texas Toastwas missing. Lastly, the app showed when my order was placed but never updated along the way. Just overall the experience feltvery scattered. Update - I am giving them 4 stars because they?ve gone out of their way to contact me and apologize for themistake. It doesn?t change what happens but we will absolutely give this location another chance because of the customer servicestandard. Read more
They're trying. The owner is always there when I go in, and that usually is a good sign. I only get the meat by the 1/4 lb., so... that is all I can comment on. Appears the price went up again on the brisket ($14 for a half pound?). Brisket was a bit fattythe last time, but overall, price point for the portions and quality are acceptable. I hope they keep it together, because themeat is great when done right and I have totally given up on the one at 5 mile and Sheldon. Read more
This was our first time trying Dickey's, and we always like trying different BBQ sauces -- SO it was a shock that neither of... our two-meat plates came with any sauce!? Kinda killed our reason to order from a BBQ :( The restaurant had already closed bythe time our order arrived, so perhaps staff was rushed with our order - but $36 (before taxes and tip and delivery) was painfulwhen we could only enjoy the sides. It's like expecting a grilled cheese sandwich with no cheese. We weren't going to post areview, but it seems missing items is a theme for the negative reviews we are seeing at this Novi location specifically withdeliveries - hope the owner and manager look into this. I liked it my granddaughter really liked it! We shared a 3 Meat platter we got ribs, Turkey and brisket with mac and cheese and... baked potatoe casserole which had a nice seasoned taste. The ribs had good seasoning and the sweet bbq sauce complemented itvery well. The sides portions were kinda small but was enough for the two of us to share. Also I liked when i asked what thepotato casserole was they gave me a sample. Great customer service as well. I don't live around the restaurant but glad I lookedit up and stopped by on my way home. Oh, dear. I really wanted to like this place. We've eaten Dickey's since moving to TX in '08, and so I expected this to be very... good. I called ahead to ask about using a coupon from online, and was assured it was fine. Once I showed up, then the sameperson put restrictions on usage, and wasn't very nice about it. Sandwiches were $9 for burnt ends, and $8.75 for brisket withcheese. We (the manager and I) discussed how I like NOT dried-out/inedible burnt ends, and was told they were cutting thebrisket right then so I could get the stuff that's not hard like leather. What I got was two sandwiches with enormously thickbuns - not toasted nor grilled, unbuttered, and both very very dry. The cheese on the brisket sandwich wasn't melted at all,but looked as if they opened a Kraft single and plopped it on. The burnt ends were leather-like, as was the very dry brisket. Ihad to keep dunking my sandwich in sauce to be able to eat either sandwich. If I had paid full price, I would have beenfurious. There is no way that amount of meat on a dry bun with nothing else on it or with it is worth $9. If this is indicativeof their food at this location, sadly, we will not return.........UPDATE - I did email the owner, as requested here, and neverheard from them. Read more
