I don't like to use absolutes, but I would say of all the delis in Nutley, this might be the best one. Consistent and a good... value. While I have had other items (and they were good too), it's hard for me not to get the Chicken Cutlet - the regular, notto be confused with the special, which is sometimes called the Chicken Cutlet. The reulgular chicken cutlet comes withprovolone, but I substitute that with mozzarella. The mootz is fresh and perfect. The Chicken Cutlet is always crispy andfilling. They finish it with fresh arugula, which is always fresh and, of course, the roasted red peppers. Bread is crispy andyet also soft. Finally, it has a balsamic glaze to bring the sandwich together. I get it every time because it's simply great!Staff is always friendly, and the business has a nice small town feel. They have lots of other quality Italian items there, too,and they look to be all homemade. Price wise, it isn't the cheapest, but it's a spot where you pay for quality, and it alwaysdelivers. For me, that is worth it every time! Overall I give Mike's Pasta and Sandwich Shop a 4.7 out of 5, a must try for allthings sandwich and Italian. Read more
Rare 5 star review. The best cold cut sandwich ever! Small store but order ahead for pickup. Great staff. Potato chips & drinks... available as is fresh meat & pasta. Ask for the daily specials. On the pricey side but it's food fit for a king! We'll lit &clean. Street parking. No public restroom. Read more
Listen. The food was insane. The bread was perfect and crunchy. The sauces were great. It was just what I needed. The staff is... hilarious. I'm not sure how long they've worked together. But they clearly are a family in the shop. I wish I lived nearby tocome more often. But I will DEFINITELY be back. Read more
My parents recently found Mike's pasta sauce at a local farmers' market. They both enjoyed the sauce so we decided to give their... sandwiches and sides a try as a family. About a week or so ago we called in a large order of sandwiches, sides and pastasauces. Customer service over the phone was great and the food was very good, albeit expensive, totaling over $100. This firstexperience was enjoyable and the food was delicious. As such, we looked forward to visiting Mike's again. Today we decided togo in person to order sandwiches and sides. When we walked in, there were only two other customers. The man behind the counterwas helping them so another employee came out to assist us. He wasn't friendly from the start. As the sandwiches were beingmade, my mom realized she forgot to mention we wanted onions on one of them. She brought this up to the employee and he seemedput out that we wanted to make a slight change. The sandwich wasn't even completed yet nor wrapped. His attitude,however, madeit clear that he was annoyed by this request. His attitude only worsened when we asked for two bags since the food was going totwo different places. This employee's attitude colored our experience today which is a shame since we had such a good firstimpression. Although the food here is very good, it's important to remember that customer service is paramount to a customer'sexperience. Read more

We have been here twice and both times we were very pleased. My wife has ordered their eggplant sandwich both times and was... happy both times. I have had their Italian sub and their turkey sub and both were very good. Their sandwiches have generousamounts of meat and the accompanying ingredients add much to the overall pleasure of eating. The prices are very reasonable. Ihope these local folks do well here, because we like to support businesses like this. Read more

Hands down the best deli around. The fried eggplant sandwich is ahhhmazing. I?d eat it everyday if I could! Their pasta salad... and potato salad are not like your average deli. Both were packed with flavor and very tasty. Read more
