One of the best meals we've ever had! Started with shared plates of Brussels sprouts and Caesar salad. The sprouts were... wonderful, the salad was just average. Then came the entrees! We tried fried chicken, pork loin, braised short ribs and duck.Each was better than the other. Large, flavorful portions of perfectly balanced goodness in every bite. The service waswonderful. The Red Cat staff worked as a team with no fewer than 8 people taking care of us throughout our meal. Two minorissues: white paper hot dog stand napkins did not match the class of the place at all and there was no bread service prior toreceiving our appetizers. Again, minor issues, but you'd think... I don't like to use superlatives really... And I'd absolutely consider myself a foodie. But I can unequivocally say: this was... one of the top 5 meals I've had in my entire life. Holy moly. I was almost in tears when I had the first bites. We ordered thespecial halibut, the souffle and the swordfish. I've never tasted anything so amazing. The fish had the perfect texture. Therisotto (which I usually always hate) was absolutely delicious and perfectly seasoned. I can't rave enough about this place.Our server, Martha, was also perfect. Great food, good service. We arrived early and were promptly seated on the porch. Service was attentive without being... invasive. Nice selection of cocktails, wine and beer. We shared a green salad that was nicely dressed. My wife had duck andI had yellow fin tuna. Both had excellent presentation, contained depth of flavor and were seasoned expertly. Outstanding!! This place should get 10 stars! We are visiting Oak Bluffs for 4 nights and this is by far the best food and... service experience on the island. We are fortunate to be seated outside. Our waitress, Georgia, is friendly and attentive. The cocktails are good and the food is amazing. We start with a lobster soufflé appetizer like nothing I have experiencedbefore. We have the special swordfish with lobster risotto cooked and seasoned to perfection. Coming from the south we lovefried chicken and I highly recommend it at the Red Cat, though it was a little on burnt side we managed to finish it. The crustis amazing, unlike any I have had before. Honestly can’t decide whether food or the service was better… both were equally amazing. These people know what they’re... doing. Cozy spot with lots of character that shows in every aspect of the experience - from the decor/ambience, to the cocktailsand freshly sourced ingredients, even the cheeky verbiage of the menu. And don’t even get me started on how fantastic the waitstaff is (shout out to Caroline). I mean seriously next level. If you happen to have the privilege of dining here, do not passup on the tuna, Brussels sprouts, or the fried chicken - but to be completely honest, it’s truly difficult to pick just a fewfavorites when EVERYTHING we ate was delicious. Absolutely wonderful! Stayed in Martha’s Vineyard for 2 weeks and dined at Red Cat twice! The food is spectacular. Everything... tastes fresh and flavorful. The Tiger shrimp dish was so good!!! Read more
Haven't eaten there, but you better tiptoe around the owner. I witnessed him sawing bikes off a sign post from behind his... restaurant and walking off with them. Then I noticed our helmets were gone. He came back with our helmets and I asked him why hetook them. Then he started screaming at me about our bikes. We had not locked them to anything on his property, and we were notblocking any path. Very scary. And quite disproportionate to the "offenses" of the bike owners, including us. Read more
