We sat there for 10 minutes before the waitress came over with our menu. The fish fry was good but my wife’s shrimp was so... small that I didn’t think a restaurant Served them that small for 17.50 8 small shrimp was ridiculous. The baked potato camewithout butter and ask the waitress for some but never came out with any Read more

Bad Service, Bad food had to get waitress attention for everything. could smell the stinky shrimp from the next table. our... shrimp stunk. crusted shrimp was in a mushroom sauce that made the crust mushy. Beer batter fishfry was doughy and potatopancakes were undercooked. extra fish wasn't the same batter. Our salad order never came. We were there a total of 2 hours fromstart to finish having to ask finally for the check so we could leave. Read more

We ate there on a Friday and very much enjoyed their fish fry. I had the beer batter cod and hubby had the fried cod. Both were... generous in size. The potato pancake was tasty but could have been hotter. Cole slaw was tasty. One of the 4 pieces of rye breadwas nice and thick and there was plenty of butter. It is a bar and was extremely loud. Decor was meh... Read more

Had a reservation for a party. Food was terrible for starters. Nachos didn’t have cheese sauce, just American cheese slapped... on top of it & stuffed in the microwave. If a restaurant cannot get nachos right, I wouldn’t trust eating their seafood orsteaks! Oh, not too mention, it took 2 hours to get the food. & Was supposed to have 2 servers for the party but only had one.Instead of being served first, they served their regulars & came to us last. I will never come here or recommend anyone to comehere Read more

I dont usually give a bad review unless the service was very poor. I was so disappointed as their food is very good. We came in... for a friends birthday and had called the day prior for a reservation as we had 10+ people. We were told they had no reservationand instead of accommodating us, the waitresses stood around arguing about who was going to take our party. We had to findenough tables and arrange them ourselves. Was 20 minutes before we were even asked what we wanted to drink so by the time wewere finally asked we were ready to order our food as well. Also to get the tomahawk special you have to call in advance, whichwe did. We requested 6 and they only had 4. We arrived at 7pm and were not served our food until 830pm. Very disappointed! I was not impressed. I went here for my birthday last week due to the nice pictures of food I’ve seen. There was only one lady... working all tables and bar area. My shrimp was cold, rubbery, no seasoning and definitely wasn’t grilled. There was no grilllines or flavor to it. Definitely not fancy as they make it look. Read more

It's a shame that I can only give Jim Dandy's one five-star rating because both service and food deserve separate five-star... ratings. The owner, Charlie, went out of his way to reach out to me personally to resolve an issue that occurred before myfirst attempt at dining at Jim Dandy's. When I finally got to enjoy dinner there, he stopped over multiple times to make sureeverything was going well and to thank me for coming back. This shows that he truly cares about his customers and wants the bestdining experience for them. Every business owner, not just restaurant owner, should strive to emulate Charlie in thatregard. As for the food, I got the tomahawk steak and crab leg special with mashed potatoes and mac and cheese for the sides. When asked if I wanted soup or salad, I chose the soup, which was corned beef and cabbage. I asked for my steak to be cookedmedium and in my opinion it was an absolutely perfect medium. There was just enough seasoning on the steak to compliment theflavor instead of masking it and the butter on top was a nice touch. The crab legs were outstanding. I've never had smoked crablegs before and honestly it's going to be hard having non-smoked crab legs going forward. Very unique and I'm glad that I didn'tsettle for the shrimp or lobster as the seafood option in this special (although I'm sure both of those would have been great aswell). All of the sides were very good. The corned beef and cabbage soup is definitely something I've not had before and wasinterested in trying. The corned beef was plentiful and the chunks of potato and carrot were a pleasant surprise since I assumedit was mostly going to be just cabbage as the filler opposite the corned beef. I've already started spreading the word and mycoworkers seem interested in going with me next time. Yes, there will for sure be a next time that I visit Jim Dandy's. Read more
