This has been our second time here and we loved both times. Food was delicious and a nice portion. Service and staff were... courteous and welcoming especially Jaylan. This place was perfect on such a nice day. Friendly staff, outdoor dining right on the water. Reasonably priced. The dish that... stood out was the burger. Great bun, seasoned well. Also, the French fries were outstanding as well. I look forward to cominghere for dinner next time. Read more
Just wanted to give my highest recommendation and review of the View in Oakdale for our wedding reception/venue spot. The food... was outstanding. Our guests would not stop talking about how great everything was and my wife and I were overly impressed withhow amazing everything came out. Everything from the cocktail hour, to the main course, to the cake from Rolling Pin Bakery,just unbelievable. We even got to choose Surf & Turf as one of our entrees and it was so delicious! Working with Jimmy, Joe, andJen was so easy for us as a couple. We didn't have a wedding planner, and my wife and I did everything on our own, but with thehelp of Jimmy & Jen, our day couldn't of went smoother and they took the burden off of us and definitely made the planning asstress-free as possible. They took the time to listen to what we envisioned the day looking like and we were fortunate enough tohave the entire restaurant to ourselves since we chose a date in their off season. It was decorated beautifully for theholidays, and they even let us pick and choose which decorations to keep and which we could put away for the day. Their newoutdoor space is now covered with heaters and it made for the perfect dance floor/cocktail hour spot and with the lighting andhanging flowers that we added, it was just truly magical. We cannot thank the View and their staff enough for theirprofessionalism and the amazing experience that they were able to give us for our special day. It was worth all the wait afterbeing postponed almost a year and a half due to COVID. So if you are an LI bride looking for a waterfront venue with amazingfood & ambiance, the View is the place for you. Read more
November 2020 - Five Stars - Four of us went for late lunch at 3:00 on a Saturday afternoon and had a very nice meal. Two did a... la carte while two did Prix Fixed. Soup appetizers and all the mains were very good as was the Pumpkin Pie Parfait for dessert.The View is no misnomer as the view of the water is very nice with large glass windows across the entire waterside wall. Servicewas very good and not pushy. Social distancing rules well enforced, every other table blocked off from use, masks required whennot seated. Nice experience! September 2021 - Two Stars - We had a late 3:00 PM lunch at The View and were quite disappointed.Service was very poor even with wait staff everywhere and very few customers. Further, the sauce on a pasta dish was thin andlacking of flavor, clams casino were also so bland that we didn't eat two of the three and when we told the waitress theyweren't very good, she left then on the table anyway, and never offered to remove them from the bill. Would've been 5 star, except the long wait for service. Forgotten items weren't delivered and had to be reordered. Terrific... lobster Bisque, excellent salads..The atmosphere and food were excellent. Cheers. Read more
The restaurant has beautiful views and great food however giving it 3 stars because we had a 615 reservation and we finished at... 1015, so long to get our drinks and another 30 minutes to get our appetizers, then they forgot 1 drink and after about 15minutes later came to check on us and remember he never brought the beers, we then waited another hour for our dinner to beserved, and when we ordered desserts our waiter never brought them to us, after finally waiting waiter came to table with checkand noticed then we never got desserts, we would have left without dessert but waiter ran to get them, 4 hours for dinner isdrawn out but a plus the food was good. I've dined here many times, and have never been disappointed. This past Sunday I was there for my Birthday Brunch. Days before... my number of guests increased by 6 and the sraff was so accommodating and polite. We were extremely happy with the food, andservice.
