It was definitely the best dine-in surprise during our trip to the Bay Area. We visited here based on the reviews, only to... realize how limited the space was. To accommodate our group with kids, they vacated a table by kindly asking a two-party groupmoving to counter seats. The staff explained the menu and answered the questions with good humor, and patiently customized ourorders with several iterations of confirmation with the chef. The food was top-notch quality, from soups to varioussashimi/sushi and fried items. The taste of the amazing freshness can?t be faked. We?ve had experience with many other sushiplaces, but none beats Geta. Highly recommend Geta Don if you are a lover for the well-orchestrated Toro and Uni plus OnsenTamago & Ikura. Read more
This place was recommended to me & from looking at reviews I thought I'd give it a try. What a mistake. Truly the worst sushi I... have ever had. They don't even attempt to try with their rolls. I spit the California roll out so fast, it was like eating blandimitation crab mixed with a glob of mayo. I get sick thinking about it. The shrimp tempura roll was just sad, again, noseasoning & overstuffed with avocado, there are no other vegetables. Finally tried this little gem of a sushi bar for lunch the other day. A simple order of Salmon Avo and Spicy Scallop rolls came... out very quickly and were perfect. Rolls were quite large, we could barely finish the rolls between 2 of us. Fish was so freshand delicate. Scallops were even a little sweet and the softness of the sushi rice complemented the fresh fish perfectly. Can'twait to go back and try some of the other offerings here. After a sub par experience at a competitor down the street I'm lookingforward to having another sushi spot to rival the consistently excellent Shimizu. Read more

Geta had been my ?go to? sushi restaurant for at least 5 years. The quality of the fish was outstanding both inside and ?take... out.? However, since the pandemic, things have become very inconsistent and much more pricey. All cash is encouraged. Thelast couple sashimi salads I ordered had fish that was inconsistent, and mostly unacceptable--- including shredded pieces,unequal sizes, some ?scrap? pieces, plus large unwieldy pieces of lettuce. This was extremely disappointing. I know the ownerknows better and I hope he will pay closer attention to his chefs. After 2 or 3 experiences like this, I have stopped orderingtake out from what had been my favorite sushi bar. This is my Japanese fix for a long time. A family style Japanese owned and operated by a Japanese family. The food is... authentic. The service is on the spot. You only have too go now. And because of inflation, it gets expensive, the two of usis another $90, but the food quality is great. I wish I could dine in again once the Covid is gone. Read more
