I love Homeroom! The food and service are exceptional. Sam was our waiter and I cannot say enough to capture how kind and well... treated my family and I were. Sam is the best, ask for them if you?re looking for reliable and friendly service. We loved thecrab mac n cheese, elote corn, and brownies dessert! This was my first time coming to this place. A friend of mine recommended it and let me tell you I am not disappointed! Our... server, Betty was amazing she had personality and had just the right amount of attentiveness to where we felt taken care of andgiven the appropriate space to enjoy our meal. The food itself was 10/10 definitely recommend. The service 100%. The atmospherewell I give a 4/5 only because the restaurant keeps the doors open making it pretty chilly inside. Everyone dining in kept theirjackets on during their time dining. I will add it's November 10th so a little cold is expected. Over all though 4.9/5 I endedup ordering entries for my roommate and I to have for lunch tomorrow. It is really that good! Absolutely delicious! One of my favorite places to go to in Oakland. I took one star off because I was actually shocked there is... a mandatory LIVING WAGE SURCHARGE of 5%! That?s right, aside from tipping (which the servers deserve) why am I the one who isforced to pay a living wage to their employees when it should be the businesses duty to pay their employees properly. I am generally not a fan of plain mac and cheese but Homeroom just takes it to a different level by providing a variety of... flavorful mac and cheese. So good!! Came a few years ago and did not think it was worth the hype. Well, now in 2022 and it is definitely worth the hype. I... loved the Elote Mac. I was also impressed with their system - open seating, order via QR code or at the counter, food comes toyou, staff are quick to arrive with water when we first sat down outdoors. Such a great meal! We all kinda know this is one of the biggest names in Oakland, so my expectations were set to... pretty high. And Homeroom did... not disappoint! The restaurant hosts were amazing. Ordered the truffle Mac and added bacon for delivery. Overall good flavor and BIG portions, enough food for a day and a half for... me. I do wish they put more truffle oil though because the truffle flavor was very subtle and I?m assuming that?s why theypriced this higher than the others with meat.
