The chicken was extremely salty. Macaroni and cheese was well. I don?t even know what to say about that. The chicken I ordered was clearly cooked with old grease. While waiting for my order I asked to use the restroom. I was told it... was out of order. Then a few minutes later. A guy came out of the restroom. I asked the person who took my order. Why did shedeny me! Then she told me, with a attitude. Here's the key use it at my own risk. I also asked why did you let him in therestroom. Her response was he is my brother. If I wasn't hungry and still needed to use the restroom. I would have cancelled myorder, and went elsewhere. Delicious, crispy, and fresh! But be prepared for a bit of a wait. We came by for takeout on a Monday evening and happened to... beat any dinner rush for the day when we arrived at 6:30pm. There's some parking along the main street but it can get a bitnarrow if you end up having to park in the back neighborhoods. Their store is clean and spacious, and the employee who assistedus to order at the checkout was very kind and professional. My husband and I ended up ordering a French Quarter Combo ($16.50pre-tax) to share. It comes with 2 fish, 3 shrimp, 2 chicken pieces (either wings or drumsticks- we chose drums), and a side ofyour choice (we ordered mac & cheese). Other customers started coming in as well, and soon we were all patiently waiting forour orders. Unfortunately, the wait did end up taking 20-25min. for us. We ended up watching a good amount of TV playing in thestore during this time. Finally, they called our number and we were presented with a glorious-smelling bag of fresh goodies. Werequested hot sauce and tartar, and were on our way home to chow down. (They ended up providing only 1 fork and 1 spoon for the2 of us, so do ask for more if you have multiple people sharing!) The chicken was wonderfully juicy and tender, and EVERYTHINGwas fried crispy and fresh. Hot sauce was a great complement for the chicken- theirs appears to be a mild mix based off Tapatioor Cholula, and had a bit of nice acidity to it. We found the fish and mac & cheese to be a bit too flavorful for our liking (Ithink they add Lawry's seasoning salt to the mac, which makes it HELLA salty), but the textures of everything was bang on. I came here randomly visiting family in Oakland. What I can tell you is the chicken portions are huge! It's made fresh & crispy... and comes with either bbq sauce or hot sauce your choice. Seems as thought it family owned, the alligator is a big priceyunfortunately ????.
