Oakland has an amazing coffee scene and modern coffee is definitely one of the best. It is located across from federal hall and... they have the best Cardomom Chai ever. Great chai. 2 flavors that are each stellar. I get a 50/50 blend because i like both so much and can't choose. Go early as... pastries run out early. This means they are always fresh.... no day old muffins..... bring your own cup please. 5 star ratingif there were seating options for morning visits. Always packed with meetings and gabbing. Modern Coffee third location is located across from federal building and post office on Clay St in downtown Oakland. This... location is also smaller than the other two with a few tables inside and two tables on sidewalk. Worker are outgoing no matterwhat's thrown them. Nothing different here just same as usual with TCHO, Awesome Bar, Chromatic Coffee etc. Good for quick biteduring your commute or midday break. Open M-F from 7am-4:30pm only. Read more
