It?s Starbucks. I usually prefer independent local coffee places, but for those who like Starbucks it?s exactly what you?d... expect. The staff are friendly despite difficult circumstances. This location is boarded up and they aren?t letting peopleinside, but taking orders by the entrance. They?re selling the full range of stuff. People are masked outside waiting. They havea little glass dish in which they take your phone to pay if you?re using an app. The location is convenient in downtown Oaklandby a bunch of office buildings. The clientele seems to be a mix of city workers, construction workers, business people, andrandom people who live nearby. There?s bike parking around. They?re really not fast, so I?d recommend ordering ahead if you?reable. Read more
Disclaimer: I really don't like Starbucks very much. It's pretty much the McDonald's of coffee chains, and that is probably an... insult to McDonald's. Really I think the only reason people go there is for wifi or one of their flavored concoctions so theycan knock themselves out with all the sugar and additives while getting a caffeine kick. However when I order an Americano I doat least expect to not get something that tastes exactly like the cup of super cheap drip coffee I occasionally get with myMcDonald's order. I don't know if the barista made a genuine mistake or made me the wrong coffee for kicks or maybe I just don'tknow what good coffee tastes like, but I think I'll stick with the Peet's around the corner (which also has much better customerservice) Read more
Good coffee shop in Oakland area. Compared to other Starbucks in Oakland, this is better. Staffs keep changing and... friendly. Service is quick on non rush hours. Otherwise takes a lot of time. Especially when offers are going on queue will betoo much and I usually avoid those days and compromise with Pete's coffee. Better to avoid when it's too rush. The building istoo small and will be really crowded. Sounding area is good lively, but have to be careful outside when it's dark. It's notjust this building anywhere around Oakland downtown is scary when it's dark. Read more
