I believe they make the best sandwich in the East Bay. They nail the Italian style deli sandwich while also having a full... complement of BBQ, and there are often specials that have elements of both styles for a fun crossover. There's a big beerselection and lots of indoor and outdoor seating. It's grungy and inviting, and they do events as well. Barbecue ribs don?t seem to have come off of a grill, but rather out of an oven in my opinion. They fall off of the bone too... easily as if being cooked slowly in an oven. They don?t seem to have been done in a pit either. Not enough texture although somemay like it that way, l prefer a little bit of firmness in the meat. Read more
Ordered a last minute door dash sandwich, they accepted my order. I was amazed my Italian sandwich was So Good!! Bread,... ingredients. Adorable BBQ place in west Oakland. A bit grungy and I?ve been wanting to try it out for a while especially now with Horn having... huge lines. Awesome lunch spot or happy hour outdoor hang out spot. Tried the Riblet sandwich and the Spicy jalapeños brisketsandwich. Loved the riblet, super messy and very mouth watering delicious ???? would recommend and will try the plates next. Read more
I stop because the bar b que smelled really good. The place was really dirty and the cashier had a very nasty attitude. My... friend insisted on ordering and the food was not as good as it smelled. The greens was bland, the Mac and cheese was gross. Themeat was really fatty, it was a waste of $50.00. Read more
I've been wanting to come here for a while and finally made it. The brisket plate OMGoddess! With a side of beans, slaw, fresh... bread, and really good sauces. Nice size portion of meat. I'm impressed, in love, and plan to return often to try a new item onthe menu each time. Read more
After driving by maaaaany times and wondering, what is this place and is it delicious? My boyfriend and I finally decided to... give it a try on my last night in town for a while ? and it did not disappoint! The pulled pork and baked beans were rich withflavor, and the rib meat was tender and melty?. Service is also stellar and there?s even in a pool table in the garden! What aboon! First time here, joined a friend who works nearby and has been here a few times. Got the pulled pork sammy, it practically... melted in my mouth. So delicious, hope to be back soon. Addendum: have been back multiple times and have had several differentsandwiches at this point (pulled pork, brisket, meatball, italian) and they're all recommended. Also the jukebox is tops.Somebody there definitely likes Pavement. Also, just realized they have punk and metal shows here. So cool, had no idea. >>Icome here nearly every Friday with my buddy now.
