Personally we like picante they?ve always done well, and their spicy salsa is good! We order food from there regularly. Tonight... we ordered a burrito with no pico, no onions due to food allergy and there was chunks of onions in it. Assuming it was an honestmistake We called asked for a new burrito and it was loaded with pico, and wasn?t even hot, almost like it was a joke to them .Not sure if they switched up the staff or what but we will not be going back there. We were welcomed by the nice ladies up front,we sat down and I was excited to try the huaraches so I ordered a plate and my... husband ordered a California Burrito. The rice and beans were good even tho I would have preferred cotija cheese instead ofmozzarella over my beans. The Huaraches meat was quality meat but the huarache itself was a no for me. I can tell it wasntfreshly made (pre-made pack) and was expecting it to be filled with beans inside how I usually get it in most places. My husbandwasnt too impressed with the california burrito he didnt get much of the fries in it. Im am very picky with horchata and eventho I was already like "nope" when I looked at it (looked too cinnamon-y) I was im pressed it was tasty and my husband loved thetamarindo.. the habanero salsa was our favorite, following the red salsa and green taking last place. We want to come back totaste the quesabirria tacos.... defenitly will chose this place over La Costa anytime. Read more
First time here and the impression of the food wasn't great. I tried the Quesabirria. I will admit, this is only my second time... ever having Quesabirria, so I am no expert by any means. But based on my prior experience, I was expecting a taco made withsavory/flavorful stewed beef that comes with a dipping consomme, (think along the lines of a French Dip sandwich). What I gotwas very bland and incredibly greasy. The tacos were oozing bright red grease served with a cup of red dipping grease. Been here a few times and they did not disappoint! Got their quesabirria tacos and pastor and both were delicious! The horchata... was one of the best I?ve tried! Most that I?ve tasted are extremely sweet, this one isn?t as much! I?m addicted! Excited to trymore from this restaurant:-) Read more
Tacos AL pastor was amazing . Great flavor and cooked to perfection . Both grean and red chili was delicious. The first thing... that stood out to me about this location would have to be the restaurants exceptionally clean dinning area during these timesthis is one of the most important and often overlooked concerns. This location was so clean it was practically shinning. I canfeel safe coming here knowing the staff has anexceptional standard of cleanliness. On top of Great food and a very cleanenvironment the staff was attentive ordering process was quick and they even told me about their taco Thursday deals. We just tried Picante tonight after always going to Los Charros and we think we just found our new favorite Mexican Restaurant!!... I tried the Super Carne Asada Tacos and they did not disappoint!! The carne asada was seasoned so good and not greasy, not tomention all the ingredients were fresh and delicious!! Plus, they were extremely friendly and incredibly nice. Today is the grand opening! Come check them out and try it! There?s a Picante Taqueria in Pittsburg and the owner says this is... not the same. This one is just called Picante. The restaurant is tiny. There about four or five tables. So seating is verylimited. But is it so cute inside. They are serving authentic Mexican food. So glad they opened because the one near us closeddown. We ordered a veggie Burrito Bowl, Bean burrito, and an horchata. Our order was ready in five minutes. That was pretty fastconsidering it?s their grand opening! Obviously the veggie bowl was fresh: the lettuce was in the bowl still nice and crisp,though a could use a bit more veggie. The burrito was a bit small for the price in my opinion but you be the judge when youcome. But still tasted ok. It?s their first day so I?ll have to come back again. Read more
