Hazel is a refreshing little gem in the Occidental food options. If you read the restaurants bio the owner has a solid... background in working at some fine dining establishments. And he wanted to take his experience to a small (and hopefully lesscrazy) space/town. The restaurant ambiance itself isn't anything notable, but the food and service certainly make up for theplain surroundings. We had the Pot Roast (a signature dish) and Wild Salmon. Both excellent. So grateful we were able to experience this place. . They were definatley busy and I could taste why :-) . Bruce was excellent... and made it an experience to remember. Thank You! . We ended up going back the next night as the menue was amazing!. . The ribswere just mouthwatering! Meat was just following off the bone! . Must try! This is a perfect place for wood fire roasted pizza. We ordered Blue cheese, Mushroom & Mozzarella Pizza. All the... pizzas were very yummy. Everyone on the table had their own personal favorite. My favorite was Mushroom pizza. Desserts werealso very yum. I would like to thank Bruce(our server) for being such a nice host. Everything was delicious with generous portions! Our favorite was the Pt. Reyes blue cheese thin-crust pizza with marcona... almonds and arugula. I also loved the pecan cheesecake. There’s a cute little assortment of baked goods at the front aswell. Read more
Best pot roast I’ve ever had! Stopped here for dinner last night and was not disappointed! We had a big group on a wine trip... who had dined here 3 years ago and loved it so much we had to go back. It completely met our expectations! I got the pot roastand it’s the only one I’ve ever had comparable to my moms ???? tried to eat the whole thing but it’s definitely enough fortwo! We were staying in Bodega bay and weren't really excited by any of the dinner options there so decided to venture further. And... that was the right choice or we would have missed one of the best pizza we ever had. Restaurant is cute with both indoor andoutdoor seating. We took the mushroom pizza and it was insanely good. I wished I lived here to get more of it. Highly recommendeven if it's a detour from your route. Read more
