Been coming to OC for 30+yrs from Pennsylvania.....for vacations, softball tournaments and for plain relaxation...had plenty of... pizza and wings, which were good.....tonight I went with the recommendation of the locals...I consider myself a foodie....I'veeaten alot of food in alot of different places/states/countries/ and in between...just wanted simple tonight.....WOW!!!!!!!Pizza??? OUTSTANDING!!!! Pepperoni and crimini mushrooms..crispy crust, and you know its had tossed because of the semolina.Sauce and topping ratio on point.....Wings?? OUTSTANDING!!!! Cooked crispy and sauced correctly. Calamari?? OUTSTANDING!!!!Tender, lightly breaded, and marinara on point!!!! The negative reviews for this place? They don't know food. I have one word for you: Revival. I can?t speak to the atmosphere, or what the physical place was like, but I can speak to what... the place tasted like. I was enjoying my time to the utmost degree when I was presented with this pizza. I was ready to punchthe clock, but had a slice (or two) and was ready to hit the town. I loved how thin the sliced were and how easy the pizza wasto devour and how balanced the sauce/cheese/topping ratio was. This place is highly recommended. Pizza was delicious. The crust was nicely thin and crunchy. They were able to accommodate my... child?s food allergies. They made her an individual vegan salad pizza. It was so good we all ate a slice. Their specialtymargherita pizza was also delicious. No mozzarella, no red sauce, no Margherita pizza nor vodka, overpriced on monday lunch time, attention was Ok. Call ahead and... see if they have what you plan to order... This place got really high reviews and was near where we were staying so we thought we would give it a try. Great... location/really great pizza! We got personal size plain and chicken/ranch pies. (Pictured.) My friend loved her chicken/ranchpie, but I didn't taste it. I'm a "plain pizza" person. The pizza was amazing - the sauce seemed to have a bit of a garlicflavor to it. It was not as sweet as I'm used to but it was terrific! The pizza was on the thicker side, but was baked well.Crispy underneath with a good crusty edge. (As FYI- it was not as good cold the next morning for breakfast but not all pizzais) We also had fried pickles and fried zucchini, but I'd skip both in the future and leave more room for the pizza! Theoutdoor seating on the boardwalk has great people watching potential as well. So seeing as today July 30, 2021 this restaurant has a 4.2 star rating on Google, my friends and I decided to give it a try.... Sadly we were very disappointed with all of our food. We ordered a cheese pizza, calzone, shrimp tacos, fish tacos, and aBuffalo chicken wrap. Everything was subpar. Top worst foods were the pizza & calzone. Let?s start with the pizza. The saucehad barely any flavor to it. No sweetness or spicy taste to it, just bland. The dough used for the crust did not taste good atall. Next, we have the calzone. Don?t really need to go too in depth on it, just look at the picture I provided. It looks likesomeone threw up cheese and stuffed it in a bland crust. If you?d like some good pizza, try out the Pizza Tugos on 18th street.I tried their pizza on July 29, 2021 and it was much better than what I got today at Francos. Went to Franco?s because we saw a ton of good reviews on their pizza. Location is unbeatable, right on the boardwalk. Sat in the... bar area so we could be outside enjoying the weather. Drinks are good. Bartender was attentive and pleasant. Had old bay friesas an app while we had a few drinks. Ordered a pie (half pepperoni and half plain). I?d give it a 7 out of 10. Not the best I?vehad but definitely a good pie and worth having. All in all very satisfied and would recommend. Read more
