This restaurant came highly recommended in many OC Facebook groups and most specifically for their pizza. Everyone said if you... go here, get their 28? pizza. They make their pizza in a wood fire oven and the crust is nice and thin, but perfectly cook andnot too crispy. We ordered a 28? pepperoni pizza at 4 pm on a Sunday and it was ready in 20-25 minutes. The total was around $36($28 for the pizza and $6 for the single topping). I am picky when it comes to pizza because there is a perfect ratio of dough,cheese, sauce and toppings and I think their ratio was perfect. My family of 5 enjoyed this a lot. We?ve never had a pizza thisbig, but buy 2 large pizzas Almost every time we get pizza so the 28? made sense. It was HUGE! Just barely made it through ourSUV door huge. I took a picture of the box with my husband and child for size reference. I would def recommend this place toanyone looking for a good pizza option in OC regardless of pizza size. Excellent place to get a thin crust, oven fired pizza while in OC Maryland. Only a block from the Hilton hotel. We got a 18'... Margherita pizza shown below. They do offer 28" pizzas which are mind blowing and nearly don't fit out the front door. If youenjoy thin crust pizza I'd say this is a don't miss. Read more
***2022 UPDATE*** Tonight we returned to Ripieno's about a year after our first visit due to the fact we live outside... Philadelphia and only come to OCMD once a year. The food was fantastic again along with the service. We got fries this timealong with thr pizza. The fries were very good. We forgot to ask for the pizza light on the cheese so it was again a littleheavy handed but good none the less. I would recommend asking for less cheese than normal for the perfect amount. Prices wentup slightly but still the most affordable pizza in OCMD and the quality is amazing. ***ORIGINAL REVIEW*** I wanted to tryRipieno's as I have tried most of the other pizza places in OCMD. The fact that the pizza is wood fired made me interested ingoing. They are attached to the Burger King, my receipt is on Burger King paper and when sitting outside you are right by thedrive thru ordering for Burger King but that doesn't matter because the food and service was excellent. The inside smells ofwood due to the wood fired pizza ovens which is not overpowering but delightful. We ordered a 16" cheese pizza with halfpepperoni and 4 large soft drinks. The pizza was $12 and the half pepperoni added $1.50 so $13.50 for a large pizza withpepperoni in OCMD which is very affordable. The large fountain drinks were $2 a piece which made the total bill $21.50 plus taxfor a grand total of $22.79. Again very affordable. We sat outside and within 5 minutes our pizza came out. Very hot and verydelicious looking. The pepperoni was super thin and crispy in spots. It's very reminiscent of sandwich style pepperoni. Thepizza crust is thin and crispy with great flavor. The sauce is a touch sweet and tangy. The cheese is very good as well. Iwill say there was more cheese than I was expecting so I will definitely ask for light on the cheese next time. Had a pepperoni pizza and an antipasto salad. Pizza was very cheesy and pepperoni was a flavorful large size . The crust was... both crispy and chewy, done perfectly. The antipasto was fresh, crispy lots of olives, cheese and meats with a great Italiandressing. Read more
Great food, great atmosphere, and excellent service. They have a real wood fired oven and everything is made fresh. Despite the... other reviews the pizza is not burnt, that is what the crust looks like when you have fresh dough and a wood fired oven, itsmore traditional than your standard run of the mill pizza place giving the dough a great taste and texture. I live in new jerseyand this place rival's a lot of the wood fired pizzerias I have been too in nj/ny which doesn't happen very often! When I comedown to OC again I will definitely be dining here. The 28-inch pizza may come across as a gimmick, but it tastes like a well thought-out pizza born in the flames of a... gas/wood-fire oven. There has been a lot of talk about Ripieno's, and as the new kid on the block, it is definitely in theconversation for best pizza on the peninsula. I carried it out, barely got it into my car, and surprised my family with thismonster.
