This was a good Italian restaurant. We had a great time dinning here. The sauces they used for the pasta dishes really lacked on... authentic Italian taste. Stayed at the hotel and ate at Taste of Italy on a rainy evening. Hostess seemed dead inside when we greeted her at the hostess... stand and we were left us confused as we stood up front for 10 minutes watching while she had 4 employees ridiculously set upour table for our party of 4. We tried their signature drink, the black walnut Manhattan... Save your money and get somethingelse, not delicious. The kids had the Chicken Alfredo; it was good. Husband had the soprasada pizza; does not have cheese allthe way on the pizza, just dollops of cheese... Also gave him heartburn which he never gets so something in the tomato sauce...Just an FYI to look out for. I had the salmon; This was cooked perfectly...it came with a side of asparagus that was drowning inboiling oil underneath it. There were also three pieces of potato wedges... I did not eat those due to dietary restrictions. Weeach ordered a glass of wine, one red one white... Nothing to write home about on either. We ended our meal with the Italian rumcake which boasted that it was soaked in rum... This is a lie. It is a yellow cake drenched in slivered almonds on the outside.There is a little bit of cream flavoring on the inside two different layered flavors I think one chocolate and one vanilla orsomething. It was hard to tell through all of the slivered almonds on the outside. But there definitely was no rum in that cake.We also had espresso which was good. I do have a complaint that has to do with seating arrangements of small children in anestablishment such as this. The restaurant was not full by any means, and for the restaurant to put very small children in thevery back corner to where the waitress wasn't even able to move around the tables comfortably to serve the dishes, and then tostick small children in the very back (technically the front next to the pizza oven) to not be able to get out when they startedto cry was a huge issue. I loved the atmosphere of this restaurant. I wanted to love the food also. Unfortunately, I can't say that I did. I had the... Penne Vodka. It was dry and not very good. Plus for what they serve you, very expensive. They did not d give me free beerthough, so that was something. I do also want to try the pizza because it smelled very good. One dish that was reasonably pricedwas the Chicken Parmesan. My wife ordered that an got a large plate completely filled with chicken. She ended up taking morethat half home with her. But even that was not really that good. My recommendation may change after I try the pizza, but rightnow I'm not enthusiastic about ever going back. Read more
What an amazing experience!! I had the lasagna and it was delicious. My husband had fried calamari and he loved it. Our... waitress Simona was the best waitress ever! Really good, authentic-style Italian! All the food here was delicious, we were recommended this restaurant and so glad we took... the advice. The bread was very good, they give olive oil and vinegar to dip it in. The marinara sauce in the pasta dishes wasflavorful, you can tell they use fresh ingredients. We were surprised about the quality being at a beach location but afterstepping inside, it’s like we left the beach and walked into a family-owned bistro in Italy. They have a large deli at theforefront of the restaurant with handmade goods. The staff was also pleasant and friendly. We dined here in the off season so itwasn’t very busy. Wonderful Italian restaurant with great atmosphere. Service was exemplary our waitress helped with all our questions and... requests. Lasagna was some of the best in recent memory. Our table was in site of the brick oven, we watched as they made freshpizza. Very nice evening at Holiday Inn Beach front ocean city Maryland. Read more
