Getting these sticky buns on vacation each year is the highlight of my year. It is the only thing that gets me out of bed each... day. My happiness is contingent on these sticky buns. Lasting family feuds have been born from who gets the last one when we areabout to run out. I don't even have any pictures because they don't last long enough to take them. The second I walk in holdingthem my family descends on the box as if we have been starved for centuries. I have bought extras before I go home and hiddenthem from the rest of the family. Consistently the best sticky buns in OCNJ. Plain, raisin, nut, or apricot. Each family member has their preference. The plain... tend to sellout. Freeze well and we bring some home to savior later until our next visit. Typical high shore prices ($$$). Read more
This is an old school gem. I may be a little biased as I have a house in walking distance to Mallons, but my kids love the... sticky buns! The shop does a great job of hiring young pleasant staff and the food is always consistently prepared. We go withthe raisin topped sticky buns but there are several to choose from. I?ve been a fan of Mallon?s for years. Recently I bought a dozen sticky buns for a colleague at work as a thank you. She said... they loved Mallon?s in her family and that her husband makes French toast with the sticky buns. I was intrigued because I hadalso read about someone doing this in another Mallon?s review. Accept no substitutes. Mallon's is the ORIGINAL Ocean City Sticky Buns. I have had a them from a few different places and these... are the ones that take the cake. For years, we have ordered them in the winter time to eat on Christmas morning - it's atradition. They have a pretty big selection of pastries besides the sticky buns, but. would 'stick' with those. They also havemany new flavors but I would try plain first, they are my favorite anyway. TOP TIP: Slice the cinnamon buns like bread and frythem like French Toast! This is an unbelievable treat. This is my preferred way to eat them. All in all, this is one of the oldstaples of Ocean City. Mallon's Sticky Buns are what come to mind when I think about sweets at the beach.
