We used to go the the other location In Carlsbad back in a days for taco Tuesdays. Food was usually good a bit crowded on... weekends. Ordered Pastor burrito with guac. Was happily surprised when it arrived and it was grilled/pressed. Nice size and super fresh.... The pork could have been a little bit less cooked, but it was seriously fresh and hit the spot! I went twice during my 4 daystay in Oceanside. Simple and good salsa bar. Read more

I went to have dinner with my kids today. We ordered carne asada tacos. The carne asada was a little bit too salty. We also... ordered chips and toward the bottom I noticed pieces of dried meat. The employee in the front register gave me an unsatisfactoryexplanation of why there were pieces of dried carne asada in our chips. Read more
Don’t go on a busy taco Tuesday. It was just me and I wanted to try the chicharron taco. They were out. I was hoping they’d... allow me to order to go but got declined. The older man behind the register was very preoccupied and seemed rude, barelyacknowledging me and seemed bothered. Okay, so I chose a giant table for just me (social distancing) I got the Asada nachos overlettuce and fish taco. Food was okay for the price. Not my fave place for authentic Food but it’s cheap during happy hour oron a Tuesday. The bartender is nice and works hard. This place is a locals spot for cheap eats, you get what you pay for. We were at the brewery across the way and ordered take out from here. I don’t remember what we ordered, but I know the dish I... ate was very good and was a large portion. I could not finish it. My daughter didn’t like her quesadilla, but she is picky. My husband enjoyed whatever the heck he ordered. He was able to finish all of his. So bring an appetite, or better yet, share. Read more
The food and service was great! Never been here before and the guy at the register took the time to explain the menu and gave... some recommendations. My meal was divine. Not over powered by tons of flavor. I was only able to eat half the sandwich since itwas so big! They had indoor and outdoor eating for the win and bathroom was clean. ???? Read more
Grubby's is a decent spot for basic Mexican cuisine. The store front is clean but fun, a bright pink sign adorned above the... outdoor area. You walk right in towards the cash register, with an attached bar adjacent, televisions everywhere blaring thecurrent sports games. Everything in the dining room is essentially clean, the bathrooms as well, and everything works asintended. The staff are super friendly, from giving informed suggestions on the menu, to chatting it up with customers from thebar. The tacos are pretty damn good, but the sides are hit and miss. The rice felt a bit dry on both of my visits, and the blackbeans were super salty - the refried beans were spot on! All in all, worth the cost for the ambiance, damn decent food, and evenmore decent company, including other patrons. Would definitely visit again. Read more
