We rode our bicycles up the NW State Trail from Petoskey. Glad we did! Stopped by the Northwood Family Restaurant for lunch. It... was great! Northwood is a hidden gem right off the trail in Oden Mi. Watch for the blue building. A very nice inside seatingarea, a bar, quality furnishings, clean, great food and service! I appreciate cloth napkins, nice plates and silverware. Theyeven place real butter on the tables. Fish & chips was awesome! Onion rings were the best! BTW, the tall draft beer is 25ounces. The mugs bring a smile to your face! A cozy spot for some food. Steak was just ok. Baked potato came with foil around it. Had to unwrap a hot potato which was... strange. But was a good filling meal. Read more
YESS. I really enjoyed my stay please eat here too. I went the 12th of July 2022. Delicious. I had fried mushrooms (Not pictured... but amazing because I wanted to eat them) and the spaghetti. Also pictured is the cod fish sandwich and the half rack of ribs. Read more
Very pleasant surprise. Stopped for lunch and one of my favorite foods was the special, open face beef sandwich with mashed... potatoes and gravy. Excellent. Huge selection on the menu from fish to pasta, burgers to chops. The Hand dipped mushrooms and onions rings were just right.... French dip and burger were large and we took plenty of leftovers home with us. Our waitress was very friendly and exceptionalhelpful. Read more

It was late on a Sunday evening and we were on the hunt for a restaurant, well we wondered into Northwood family restaurant and... even though it was less than an hour to closing we were promptly seated and served. The fried mushrooms were so delicious Ihighly recommend them if you like mushrooms. I had the burrito it was also very delicious. Many of my family in the area reallylike this place and I see why.
