My wife and I came in for lunch and were seated promptly. Our orders were taken quickly and food came out in less than 10... minutes. We could see the kitchen was firing on all cylinders that day. Our waitress Evin was fantastic! She was personable,attentive, and very sweet. She made what may have been an average dining experience into a great one. We left her a great cashtip. She deserved it. First time comong here with a coworker and it was certainly packed but thats expected on the weekend. One thing that got me by... surprise was the portion sizes! I have always loved Black Bear. They have great food, good service, and waffles to die for. When my sister and I brought put... families together for some Christmas time fun, we decided to stop in at the Dinner on 12th street. I could not have been moredisappointed. We were told that the wait time would be about 25 minutes, it was closer to 40. We were finally seated and beganto look for what to order. After a little while we placed our order and waited. And waited. And then we waited some more. Ourwaitress came and took two orders for refills and we got none of them. Our food came at random times, the salad that was orderedwas a sad pile of chopped lettuce on a plate that made it almost impossible to eat. Our waitress came came back and took drinkorders. They never came. Finally the manager came over to check on us and we finally managed to get drinks. The plates were ahot mess with sauce all over the place. And for the kicker, the waitress took our orders asking about breads like pancakes,English muffins, or toast like they came with our meals but the didn't. They were extra and that was never discussed with us. Ihave never been so disappointed with a Black Bear. I usually come to these restaurants to make sure things go smoothly. We ordered: - BBQ Brisket Sandwich with Coleslaw & Fries - Reuben Sandwich with Sweet Potato Fries -Mocha Cold Brew Shake Love the cute decor and the little details of black bears in napkins, condiments, and all around thediner!
