We arrived there for an early dinner, around 5 PM. It was not busy in the dining room yet and we appeared to be the only table... that our waiter had at the time. The waiter did not mention his name. The food came out promptly. I had wanted steak sauce formy Shepherds pie after I first tasted it ( it lacked flavor). The waiter did not come by again until were almost finished ourmeals. I told him about wanting the steak sauce but it was too late by then since I was almost finished. The meal was also wayoverpriced. How can you justify charging $31 for Shepherds pie? At that price it should have been perfect but I have had muchbetter elsewhere. The waiter also struggled with settling our bill. He had to get another card reader and we had to ask him forour receipt. On a positive note your dining room appeared clean and having the fish tank is a nice touch. Overall I would notrecommend this place. 2 stars is for the dining room and atmosphere. This waiter and the price/ quality of the meal ruined it. Iwould never come back here again. Celebrated my partners 64th birthday here. Was taken care of very nicely. Our waiter from Jamaica was new to waiting, he did a... very nice job and was excellent with all his customers. All the food was excellent with one exception. I had the Maine SeafoodPasta, the flavor and presentation was wonderful but my lobster and shrimp where tough and hard to eat. I think my meal wasunder a heat lamp a little longer than usual since other parties that had the same meal looked so wonderful. For a meal thatcost almost 50 dollars it was disappointing. Again I think it was not the norm. Our guest check was $319 including the $60gratuity we left. This was our first time here. Over all a wonderful restaurant which we will go to again. Read more
Food was delicious, everything was quite nice but the waiter was extremely lacking. He pretended to be mute when he first came... over and had a good laugh at our expense with the table beside us. I received a dirty plate for the rolls and asked for anotherbut never did receive one and thus could not try the rolls and brown bread. He seemed to be aware of his lackluster performanceas he even apologized to us for spending so much time with another table celebrating their anniversary. The bread and service was excellent. Got the Maine seafood pasta. This was tasty but the lobster tail was like eating two... pieces of rubber. For $49 this is unacceptable. My wife had the baked scallops which was cooked perfectly but had very littleflavor. The crumbs on top didn't help the dish at all. For $35 we expected better. I would suggest having the owner visitScales in Portland to see what quality is supposed to be at that price point. We will not be returning. Read more
I have dined here a few times before and it is a great restaurant with lovely ambiance. This visit though, they stuck our group... in a banquet room upstairs and it felt cheap. They had live music for us and the food was great and served fast but the wow waslost because the atmosphere was not up to par. Read more
The food was delicious and fresh from appetizers to desserts! Service was exceptional too! I enjoyed celebrating my 16 year... anniversary at Jonathan's! My only complaint/comment would be how surprised I was to see the shrimp cocktail in such a huge"martini type glass cup" with sooo much ice, and only 4 shrimp! Not a deal breaker, will be back!! Had a beautiful view of wild flowers and the employees were all friendly. My spouse and I are both vegan and had the only vegan... choice: Mushroom Pappardelle. The flavoring was so very tasty ???? . We enjoyed our dinner very much. To the owners, pleasemore vegan options. Read more
We stopped in to take advantage of the " buck a shuck " deal that they do in the evenings. Raw oysters are $1 each. Heck of a... deal!!! Oysters were good and the cocktails were excellent. We did not stay for dinner so cannot advise on that. Building isbeautiful and the dining rooms are so comfortable and welcoming. Gentleman that I think is the owner gave us a tour of sorts andshowed us the huge fish tanks in the back. Swarming with beautiful fish.
