It depends greatly on when you go. This is a school, so you have students cooking your food. If you go when the students are... new, you may be disappointed (steak not cooked to correct temp etc). We've been multiple times. My husband and I have beenblessed to enjoy meals at 5 star resorts. The food at Platt the first time we visited was arguably the most delightful foodwe've ever had. We liked the quite classy atmosphere, complimentary infused water, bread, and delightful butter. The service wasperfect. Everything was perfect! We were very disappointed the second time. The food wasn't bad, it just wasn't what we'd cometo expect. All in all, great prices for amazing food... sometimes. There were very gracious when we complained though and fixedthe problem. We've eaten lunch there several times and it has almost always been great. As I understand it, the restaurant is staffed by... senior students of the culinary school there at the college. We had poor service one time, and a disappointing salad once. Outof fifteen or more times, that's not a bad average. One would expect some variation in quality with a new bunch of studentsevery few weeks. The table settings and service is usually first class. The salmon is excellent, as are most of the other disheswe've tried. There are different specials each time, and the dessert menu changes so often that it is not printed. They've allbeen good. The prices are extremely reasonable, with entrees from 7 to 9 dollars at lunch. They may be more in the evening.Tipping is not expected because all tips go to the college, not the wait staff. Overall, a great place to eat. They are openonly Wednesday through Friday. Read more
