I visited here this afternoon for the very first time, as did my sister, who was tagging along. If I recall correctly, our... server's name was Diana T, and she was most excellent: prompt, attentive, and delightfully pleasant. I had the Payday roll,which has just about everything on it, and my sister had the Mongolian steak stone bowl. Both entrees were exceptional. The SoulBreaker House Old Fashioned was arguably one of the better libations I'd had in quite some time, deserving of two rounds. And ifyou have room for the Fried Oreos, I recommend them as a perfect treat as well. With it's smooth and tranquil atmosphere adornin appealing decor, I hope to return again in the near future. Went there for lunch this afternoon, and was honestly surprised! The atmosphere was really relaxing and it felt nice in the busy... city. The food was fresh and tasted amazing, I had a firecracker roll (recommended by the waitress) and it was awesome, mygirlfriend had the pork flat noodles and the portions were very generous. Went in for late lunch. One of the best crab rangoons I’ve had. Sashimi was fresh and the hamachi Kama was well cooked. Pork... Katsu was presented differently from what I’m used to but tasted good. This place looks horrible on the outside. Makes you think it's a craphole. But it's very nice on the inside. Food was great.... Not sure why it wasn't packed out in there except maybe the outside scared people off. Server was the best. She was fromBolivia working in a Japanese restaurant which I found funny but she was great. I don't know if I came at a bad time or what, but this didn't really hold up to the rating for me. The space is nice enough and... well decorated, but the floor plan feels busy/haphazard and the space is barely too dark. I got the nigiri lunch special andthe pork katsu lunch special. Their bento lunch specials are a good deal for how much food you get, but the rice was very dry,the salad was mostly strips of iceberg lettuce, and the pork was insanely salty. The gyoza and accompanying sauce was nicethough. The nigiri special suffered from even dryer sushi rice, and the fish tasted dull, as if the nutty floral notes youusually get from raw fish were covered in cotton. Good to note: if you come between 1:30-3:00 on weekdays you get the place toyourself and lunch specials are still active. It was nice to have a quiet restaurant space to be in for a bit. My server waskind but not super attentive. Granted though, I did come during a dead hour of business. Overall, nothing was terrible, butneither was anything particularly good.
