Catered our Thanksgiving lunch with fantastic food from the Rub. We ordered a variety of things and picked it up the afternoon... before. They had everything chilled and wrapped and ready to go. They were really helpful in making our choices. It reheatedgreat. A big hit all round and I would do it again in a heartbeat. Read more

Warning to all Smelling Impaired: you will not be able to enjoy the rich bbq aroma. Your loss, but they have paper towels at... each table to wipe your tears. The Best: Five Guys style French fries. Pulled pork is tender, clean cut but not dry. Mac andcheese is just slightly creamy enough and tasty. Pepsi products. Sauces made to perfection. To-Go option is available. Beans hadbrisket within, and made up of multiple bean types. Corn bread is sugar crusted, crusty on the very top, fluffy underneath. Ifthis isn't a family operation, it sure resonates well as though it were--in all the best ways. Well done, family! Read more

My wife and I went for lunch. I got the burnt ends and brisket basket. The burnt ends were old, dry, and tough. I had to keep... chewing and chewing until I just gave up on them. Horrible. The brisket was dry but not as bad as the burnt ends. The fries andCole slaw were good. Not even close to Kansas City BBQ quality. Read more

The Rub catered our wedding at Weston Red Barn Farm and really blew us away! They were so pleasant to work with, quick to... respond and definitely had all the ropes down the day of the wedding. All of our guests raved about the food, and they evenhelped clean up and checked in on guests throughout dinner. Wonderful experience all around! Read more

The sausage tasted good, but was dry. The burnt ends weren't that well seasoned and were also dry. The pulled pork was good,... except half of it was a giant glob of fat (pictured) that was almost the size of their side cup. They do have really goodcoleslaw! But that is not enough of s redeeming factor to come back. Read more

The day we arrived in Kansas City, Mo , after getting unpacked at the hotel, we were hungry. We were headed to another... establishment that was recommended to us by my wife's friend, when I pointed out The Rub to my wife. It was packed, so wecontinued on, as we were starving. While eating at the other place, I looked up The Rub menu on my phone. I found burnt ends, brisket, ribs, sweet baked beans, and sweet corn. The prices? Much lower than the sub par food I was currently eating. It washard not to walk out and head on over for what sounded like some fine tasty Q. Sunday morning on our way home, I said "let'shead to The Rub, and get some Q" They had about 45 before they were officially open, according to their online menu. We sawstaff in there and my wife asked if they were open and they told us to come on in. My mouth was watering as my plate was beingfilled, with that sweet, mouth watering, smoked pork. We sat down and was pleasantly surprised just how delicious this meal was.Me and my wife both came to that conclusion.. we were both on the same page? Yes indeed! Asked the staff if I could take apicture of them to let them know they were doing a great job, and were very helpful. I hope every other customer has the sameexperience all around. In Kansas City on a visit, or just a resident who has to have some Q... Don't hesitate to stop by The RubBar-B-Que and Catering. Tell em' Darren Van Frankenstein sent ya! Edit-After reading some reviews, I wanted to correct a fewthings mentioned. For one, the beans do have a sweetness to them. My wife actually guessed what the secret ingredient was.(We'll never tell)... Another reviewer said the burnt ends had no fat, and we're rather dry. After eating an order there, andadding 2 more orders to take home for dinner... These burnt ends were moist, juicy, and had plenty of flavor adding fat...thetruth will set you free! Read more
