I have a camper on Lake James and all my camper neighbors said I had to try this brewery well they were right and for good... reason?the atmosphere is relaxed and enjoyable and the beer and food are both superb! The bartenders and wait staff were verypolite, pleasant and just all around happy which contributes to the positive mood. They are pet friendly too! So my furryfriends got to join too. Amazing food and beer! I am impressed every. single. time. I?m there. I can?t say this enough. This place + The Ride House are... the Crown Jewels of Old Fort, NC! Delicious beer and cider. Great for mountain bikers! Close to trails. The ambience isperfect, open air on one side? pick a table with a view of the creek. Once I?m here I never want to leave. A hidden jewel difficult to find for people not familiar with the region. Old Fort is a lovely small town about 20 miles west... from Ashville, and probably it is not a place where you expect to find such a cool brewery. Huge very modern style taphouse witha large selection of beers. Highly recommended. Read more
Always enjoy visiting any of the Hillman locations. This spot is great, located along right on the creek, in downtown Old Fort.... The brewery is really well done with plenty of space and parking. There's a great selection of beers to-go and a nice covereddeck in the back of the brewery. Read more
We stopped by on our way back to Durham from a short vacation in Hendersonville and are so happy we did. The brewery has a... professional look inside and out, but the staff still remains that feeling of everyone here is family. We had the HB specialtyburger and Buffalo chicken wrap with kale salad and fries. You can definitely taste how fresh everything was, and their pickleswere phenomenal (I 100% would have loved to buy a jar). But back to the beer - we got a couple of flights and while Ipersonally didn?t like one of them, it was ONLY a personal preference flavor; you can clearly tell every brew is well balancedand thought out to perfection. A great place to have a bite and a beer and perfect to take the family. The food is always hot and flavorful. The Burgers are... juicy and the pretzels and beer cheese are delicious. My son said his Reuben sandwich was the best he?s ever had! We took ourfamily from Charleston for a late lunch and they loved the decor, the vibe and the food and definitely the beer. I?m happy wehave Hillman here in Old Fort, and we can get a nice meal without driving to Asheville. Great job Hillman!! Read more
We stopped at Hillman in Old Fort simply because we hadn't been there before. What a great surprise! Not only is this joint in a... really neat building but the beers are great and the food was delicious. It's typical pub fare, but it's very tasty. It's alsoless than half a mile from the interstate, so forego the fast food and head here instead! Read more
Love this place, it is a stop every time we come home from Asheville or Western Carolina. Service is always 100% awesome. The... venue is excellent, fun and just a great spot. Beer is tasty and their menu is solid. Go with the fried chick sandwich, tossit in hot buffalo sauce and you will be in heaven. Fries are super crispy! I am getting hungry writing this review.
