The reason this isn’t one star is solely because of the nice waitress and hostess, other than that - everyone else and the... food was so bad. I wish I took photos but I was trying to stay positive through the whole experience (date night). It took about15 minutes on a slow evening to get drinks ordered, those took a good 20 more minutes. The apps came after awhile, I got theshrimp cocktail. Or so I thought. Here were little shrimps floating in a bowl of ice water. I had to pull each shrimp out of thebottom of the bowl, shake them off and eat them. My steak was either a really bad cut, or it was poorly defrosted and thencooked but it was honestly inedible. I probably ate too much which is likely why I threw up everything not hours later. Itypically don’t do this but I was so disappointed that the next morning and I called and left a message for the restaurantmanager to call me back. This was also not a cheap meal. I got a call back a few days later, unfortunately I missed the call butI called right back and was given the run around. The person who answered asked if they could take a message (for the person Iwas calling back, Tash?) I began speaking and she cut me off to say “so why are you calling us?!” I was so turned off. Longstory short, never got to speak to anyone, I was never called back again. I’d love to come back but this experience was bad. Read more
We had a lovely dinner last night. The service was terrific and the food was absolutely delicious. The outdoor seating provided... great atmosphere. We will be sure to return. Would definitely recommend! Read more
We had an absolutely lovely stay. The staff couldn't have been nicer...gracious, courteous, couldn't do enough for us...always... smiling. Our room was lovely and very clean. The food served in the Restaurant was fresh and delicious. We look forward toanother visit soon. Read more
We actually went for the tea. We had made reservations several months in advance for my mother’s trip to town (she’s 90).... When we got there, they didn’t have a table for us. Said they had “made a mistake” and shouldn’t have taken reservationsbecause they had a wedding. When we expressed our disappointment, they then said they had “left a message” although therewas no message on my phone. Deeply disappointing from a customer service perspective. Read more
I stayed here for a wedding and everything was delightful. The food for the rehearsal as well as the breakfasts were fantastic.... The rooms were clean and very well decorated. The staff was so nice as well. I had a wonderful time here! Read more
Wonderful! Old Lyme Inn was a beautiful space for dinner. Food was perfect. We also went to the Side Door! It's a small space,... but I think that's the charm in it. Not a lot of people and some good jazz. Would definitely recommend. Read more
Had an absolutely outstanding getaway weekend. The room was spacious and very comfortable. The staff was excellent and very... attentive. The food was delicious. We went to the Side Door Jazz Club both nights and got to listen to and enjoy some of thebest jazz that I have heard in quite a while.
