When I say I?m a tagliatelle bolognese aficionado I?m not kidding. I?ve had it darn near everywhere, but last evening I took my... wife out for her birthday dinner at Alforno, and I can honestly say it was the BEST I?ve had. In fact everything was terrific,from the service to the reasonably priced wine to the appetizers to our main course. We?ve always wanted to eat here but forsome reason never made it. That?s why last night was such a treat. Don?t be fooled thinking it?s not much because it?s in aClass D strip center where Bennies used to be. The restaurant is lovely on the inside and the staff is very friendly. Jen wasour server and despite being extremely busy she was great. Stop in, you won?t be disappointed. Pizza was a thin crust very tasty but very little crusty edge. If your into a thick crusty edge this is not for you! What a beautiful restaurant!! The owners/staff go above and beyond to make you have a great experience. The food is amazing. We... had the Flounder and the Goat cheese salad and both were so delicious. The kids loved the cheese pizza. We make sure Al Fornois one of our stops when we are in town. You won't regret it. So glad to be back for dinner at Alforno Trattoria. This place is the real Italian deal. The atmosphere is so warm and inviting.... They have outdoor seating or you can sit inside with plenty of space between you and the other diners. Their fresh bread andhuge olives are almost a meal in themselves. I have never really liked olives until I had them at Alforno. I don't know what thedifference is but they are juicy and full of rich flavor. They were so good I had to ask for seconds. Tonight's dinner was basic- salad, calamari and penne pasta with their own sauce - just amazing and just the comfort we have been craving. Top it off witha Lemon Drop Martini and I was in heaven.
