This is a good pizza place with many specialty pies and brick oven style. I liked the Thai and pepperoni ones that I got.
The pizza selection is diverse and all options are delicious. Never had a bad pizza. Amazing crust: never greasy, always crunchy... outside, chewy inside. You have to try the Gorgonzola salad, best salad anywhere. This place is a gem, Definitely underrated.It ranks right up there with the BEST New Haven pizza joints. The food is good but the service is horrible. We showed up tonight to pickup pizza. We stated when we came in that we were... early. The hostess was polite, but the next girl came up and proceeded to tell me we were early and it wouldn't be ready untilthe time specified. I politely said, I have no problem with that, I said we were early when we came in. she proceeded to stormoff and then a young guy came out and proceeded to tell me that the pizza wouldn't be ready and we would have to leave and waitin our car because we were way too early. When we finally got the pizza he very snottily said, "Sorry for your wait". I told himthe wait wasn't the problem but his attitude was and he chuckled and said, "I said sorry for your wait. That's called anapology." and walked away. This isn't the first time we've had issue. Every single time we order for delivery it's at least 30minutes late. I'm done. Best pizza in Old Saybrook. They also did a bulk order for our wedding afterparty. Everything arrived hot, on time, and exactly... as we had hoped. Totally recommend for eat in, take out or catering larger events. Pizzas are closer to personal size, butdefinitely worth the price. Read more
My daughter (8) and I love this place. Ask to sit upstairs. There is two train sets on either side of the restaurant. One train... travels from one side to the other. There is a tv mounted so that you can see the real train pull in and out. There are parts ofcollectible trains to purchase for as little as 3 dollars. The cons are that there is only one thing on the kids menu. Pasta.There are a few pasta dishes for adults. Then the rest of the menu is pizza. Average price of a pizza is 18. The pizza isDELICIOUS! Pizza Works is hands down one of my favorite restaurants!! I wish they would open sooner than 3:30 Monday-Wednesday....I always... want to go for lunch, but 3:30 is a little too late to be able to grab a bite. Aside from that, their food is awesome :) Read more
