Food is great and affordable. The service is excellent.
Having very little options for dine-in on NYE, we ended up here and found the atmosphere to be pretty inviting. The menu was a... fairly basic, yet enticing enough, selection of Western Chinese fare. Although the staff were busy pumping out countlesstake-out orders, the service we received was top-notch. Quick, attentive, friendly and we didn't have to wait for anything. Thefood was pretty good! The mushroom fried rice and ginger beef were above average, and the lemon chicken was decent as well;though, we found it was more batter than chicken. Thankfully it wasn't sour, nor did it cause any stomach issues as described byothers (as concerning as that is). Thanks for a lovely evening! Read more
We ordered take out food from the Oliver Garden Restaurant tonight and it was DELICIOUS! The service was quick, the staff... friendly and the restaurant was quaint and cheery inside. Excellent Chinese restaurant with great menu and delicious food. Compliment to the chef. Service was fast and courteous by... Louis. Highly recommend curry chicken, satay chicken, sweet and sour pork, mushrooms with vegetables and wonton soup . Thelocation is very easy to found and the place is so cozy . We arrived and were seated promptly although the waitress didn?t saunter over until much later. The buffet was adequate with a... decent selection of Western Style Chinese food which wasn?t exactly promptly refilled as I kept having to ask the waitresses ifitems would be replenished, despite those challenges I was able to eat my fill, the restaurant was not busy, steady but by nomeans full as more than 3/4 of the restaurant was empty which seemed odd for a Saturday nite. Another odd thing was no rice dishwas offered on the buffet, no white rice, no fried rice, nothing, weird considering in any Asian country, rice is the foundationof any meal, anything else is secondary. The decor is very tired looking most of the semi matching furniture looks like it?sbeen there for a very long time and the ancient kitschy Chinese New Years decorations have been there even longer, regardlessit?s comfortable although I wasn?t brave enough to use the washroom there. A lovely little Mom & Pop Chinese (plus Thai) restaurant. The owners were courteous. The restaurant - although having older... fixings - was clean and cared for. The food was fresh, and tasted like it had been made in house (not sauces from a package).Not going to win any prizes for gourmet or exotic dishes, but the food was good and I'll definitely stop here again. Take out made me sick. Ordered combo E with deep fried chicken wings to go. No gravy on the almond chicken, noodles were bland,... and the wings looked and felt like they were deep fried twice.(Meat was just as soft as the bones). Read more
