My family came here to eat while we were in town visiting the Omaha Zoo and Aquarium. The restaurant was nice & clean, but the... bathrooms not so much. La Mesa has really stepped up. Nice leather chairs and booths, much better than the too much color old tables and chairs. This... places looks like it could be a nicer Disney restaurant. Food was very good and we got our food quickly. Loved especially thesmall individual diorama painting on the back of the booth. Margarita was very good. We will be back sooner than later! Read more
We've been to La Mesa several times and never had a bad experience! Even when they are buried and there are only 4 servers... service is on point! I've only had one issue and it turned out to be ok...I ordered a drink, the server forgot then served itin a mule cup :D. If you want great Mexican food at a good price - try this location!! We went on a Friday night and I think everyone in Omaha had the same idea. The first La Mesa we went to was closed for... renovation. The 2nd La Mesa we went to we couldn't even get in the door to place our name. This was our 3rd chance and it wasworth it! About a 20 min wait so not too long. My margarita was so good (paradise). My husband's was pretty strong and not atasty. No one can go wrong with chips & salsa- so good. My husband's Burrito definitely could have been bigger for the cost butwas still very filling. Been a die hard la mesa fan for over 20yrs, so it pains me to see their service suck so bad and prices go to what they have. ... Numerous times now we show up and get no service for 15-20mins. Most recent time, we had to get all of our drinks ($5 lemonadefor the kids!) at the bar and it was 30mins before anyone came to our table. Somehow he was rude on top of it, as if it was ourfault. The chips were crumbs. This isn?t the la mesa I grew up with prompt service, fair prices, thoughtful food, and caring/funstaff. Truly a bummer. Positive feedback? the chicken nachos are still great. This is by far the best authentic Mexican restaurant I have been to. The food portions were great for the price- very filling... and tasty! Our server Wendy was lovely and very bubbly the whole meal she was even kind enough to take a family picture for us!Overall best dining experience I have had in a while I highly recommend anyone to come here especially my fellow Hispanics!
