Had lunch at the Lithuanian Bakery & Kafe after my appt. at Claude's Beauty Shop. What a great day!
Went in on two separate occasions and was made to feel bad for trying to buy kolache. Stopped in to get a dozen but bought five... the first time a week or so ago and she was rude about me "taking all of them." I just assumed they were low because it was10 am( kind of late for the breakfast pastry crowd). Came In a second time today.. at 9 am to buy a dozen kolache for my officemeeting and she scowled at me and told me "that will wipe us out"as I looked in the case at all the other products she had tosell I asked her so haw many am I allowed to buy? Isn't the point of having the bakery to sell the baked goods? She scowled andtold me if I sell them to you then no-one else can buy them... I won't be back again. I love trying new places, this one was a gem. I ordered the special, German Goulash with potato salad. Comfort food at its best!... It is not very big and even though it was just after lunch when I can, there was a fairly constant stream of people. Service wasexcellent and the food was also. There is ample parking and the bathroom was very clean. Read more
Friendly bakery. Their number one seller is their torte, but it must remain cold so we were unable to purchase it as we had to... go elsewhere after. Instead we tried the apple pastry and the cherry pastry. Both were good. The inside setting is not thatinviting, but it's ok if you are looking for a quick meal with no frills. Lori is a sweetheart. I went in and had lunch just before going to the mortuary for my mom. She gave me a hug. Yummy food.
