My first time ever eating at a Whataburger and I was pleased with the experience. Staff was nice, bathroom was clean, and... service was time friendly. I like the taste of the burgers. It took a minute or two to get our breakfast but that was a good thing because it was totally fresh and HOT! We both had coffee... and the sausage egg & cheese on a jalapeño biscuit. No surprises there. The unexpected part was how pleasant and friendly theemployees were. When you are traveling you stop at a lot of places and just don?t see that. What we saw were employees who lovetheir job and care about the experience that their customers are having. Absolutely fantastic customer service from Carla, everything at Whataburger is always prepared hot and fresh. Definitely worth... the few minutes of waiting. The Manager Joanne was going around and checking on the customer's and making sure everything was totheir liking. I will definitely be coming back tomorrow on the way back home in Augusta to have lunch and take dinner home. Read more
I've visited this location 4 times since it opened. I'm also originally from Texas, so I have a pretty good grasp on what... Whataburger should be. I want to rate it 5 stars, but I can't. Even when there were only 3 people in front of us in the drivethru, and the parking lot was nearly empty, we waited at least 20 minutes between the time we paid until we got our food. Andthis has happened every time we've visited. It doesn't seem to matter if we go through the drive thru or go inside to order. Thefood is good, and I have no complaints there. But the wait is awful. Don't go if you're in a rush! Thankfully the wait is mostlyworth it to have a taste of home. I'm so glad they're in Opelika, and will continue to visit. Read more

The store is WAY too small for the double drive-thru lines they are trying to do, and that causes the inside to be slow as well.... We went through the drive through: they rushed us in our order (which is why we had to pay for each meal individually). Wouldn'tlet us alter the burgers in anyway. The Mushroom-Swiss, tasted like mushrooms, Swiss, and salt. Everything was fresh-ish, thefries were unsalted. 2stars= hot food and tasted like what we ordered. Read more
WHAT AN EXPERIENCE! On Monday November 7,2022. I took my first flight from Wisconsin to Alabama. I?m greatly afraid of heights... by the way. So you can imagine my state of mind to begin with. My flight from 7:00am Madison wi to charlotte was delayed for anhour which cost me to miss my immediate connection flight of 11:22 from charlotte to Atlanta. The next available flight was at4:20pm in the evening. The temperature change of 45 (Madison) to 77(charlotte) what mad ????. Anyway I caught my 4:20pm flight.I pretty much missed all of my activities for the day. I didn?t eat anything so I was starving. I was stationed in opelika. Solooking for food I crossed what a burger. I was extremely grumpy. Immediately my mood was changed by a young lady whomconstantly smiled and gave excellent customer service. Her positive aurora rubbed was undeniable and I couldn?t help but smileas she welcomed me to whataburger. All the nerves and failures not to mention fatigue of the day disappeared when continued tosmiled and ask how may I assist you today. I know this is long but employees of establishments such as that sometimes never getthe flowers they so rightfully deserve. To SHARDAE who served everyone with an infectious smile and kindness I want to thankyou. After leaving with my order it was like I had the best day of my life with that one encounter.
