Was in the area and looking for a "noncorporate" café. Glad I visited Brot Coffee. I learned that the coffee is roasted here.... Ordered a basic coffee and was very impressed. The aroma was a touch nutty and rich in flavor. There are few selections ofpastry pairings. It seems Brot Coffee specializes in toast with various options of spread. I ordered a sourdough with butter andwas surprised to see such an exuberant slice of bread. The ambiance of the cafe is very relaxing. There is plenty of seatingand tables of all sizes for individuals, couples, or larger groups. Outdoor seating is also available. Restroom are availablehowever during our visit they needed attention. I used to come every time I visited OC it became a "must go" every trip. Best coffee I've ever tasted, lattes iced or hot they... have a unique signature Non-dairy option(Oatmeal,almond....) Dairy option as well(whole,2%) And the toast is a must the squananait's just delicious. Heroes need a break too is understandable you have to close on Mondays. Read more

BROT has a great easygoing and relaxing vibe to it. You can definitely tell it's a business rooted in the community. Adrian,... the owner, is always working hard creating his mastercraft beverages, but always tries to make it a point to say hello tocustomers and make them feel welcome. As a person who has learned to create custom beverages at home, I have an appreciationskills and willingness to create different drinks for customers. I've asked him to mix milks, combine different ingredients, andthen allowed him to work his magic making the final product. I've always been pleasantly surprised. Not only is this a coolplace to grab a custom beverage from, but if you're feeling a little creative and it's not a busy day, come up with a new drinkand ask him if he'll make it for you. I was recommended this place by a friend, and it did not disappoint! I ordered two different pre-built toasts, and they were... very nice. Not the largest portions, but the taste was great and filling enough for breakfast. The store itself has a niceenvironment and the smell of coffee was pleasant. I would definitely come back here again to try new flavor combinations, oreven buy bread/beans to take home. Read more
