I got the 1 meat plate with fried funeral potatoes, macaroni and cheese. The brisket was hands down the best not too salty just... perfection. The fried funeral potatoes were so delicious like you were eating the real thing. The Macaroni and cheese was socreamy and definitely cheesey. One of the best mac and cheeses I've ever had. The other plate was double brisket and smokedsausage. The sausage had a little kick of spice but was good. Garlic bread was also a good choice. The only thing that was alittle disappointing was that the cornbread was kind of dry but it was closer to closing when we got there. We got through theline fairly quickly. The staff was very organized and friendly even with it being a busy night. I highly recommend checkingthis local gem out! This is our new place for sure! Read more

Hey they have a Pepsi Freestyle machine here. First one I've ever seen. Got some Swachos with pulled pork, mac and cheese with... some ribs and brisket sandwich. The service was great and staff so friendly and helped me with some cheese I was running outof. They sold out of potatoes and a lot of their meats with only enough pork left for the nachos around 8 pm. By the time I wasdone eating the kitchen was closed because they were all sold out. The rolls are very soft and bounce back after every bite. Read more

I have heard great things about 5star BBQ and they were all true! The service was exceptional. The wait for lunch was short. I... couldn't get enough of the turkey cranberry sandwich, literally Thanksgiving all year long. It is one of the best sandwichesI've ever had! I like that the Cole slaw was thinly shaved and not big chuncks, the beans weren't runny and full of meatyflavor. The creamed corn was sinfully good and the cornbread had the perfect consistency, it didn't fall apart as you eat it. The sauces are spicy but not hot and the ranch is homemade & tangy. I highly recommend this joint to anyone who hasn't been!SOOO GOOD! Read more

Brisket was full flavored, plastic knife tender, great pink smoke line, pull apart goodness. House sauce was a little smoky,... little tangy, with a medium pour. Sweet sauce was a lighter pour, great tang, and subtle sweet. I liked both, paired great withthe meat! Try the selection of variety of sauces in the fridge! ???? Classic sides were tasty and filled you up. The corn andpotato salad definitely hit the spot. Banana pudding was creamy and refreshing. Read more

A dream. Fried funeral potatoes are absolutely top tier. Pork melts in the mouth. Brisket has excellent marbling. Mac and cheese... actually pretty decent. Really a far and away better experience than any other BBQ style place anywhere in Provo or Orem withouta doubt. Read more

Finally found good BBQ in Utah!!! We?ve tried multiple places since we moved here a few years ago but none of them compare to... BBQ in the south. 5 Star BBQ is the closest we?ve found! Now if they would put corn nuggets on the menu they?d be even better! Read more

Let's get one thing straight- it can be pretty tacky when a restaurant names itself among the greatest by dubbing itself 5-star... BBQ. But this restaurant is better than almost any other BBQ joint I've been to in UT. This company has consistently pulled itoff for many years, and from the looks of it, it's just getting better. POSITIVES: I found their in-house sauces to be VERYimpressive! (Both the House sauce and the sweet BBQ sauce). Even mixed together, they taste amazing. Their fries werewell-prepared. Their meat was juicy and flavorful (compared to other places' extremely dry meats). Their pulled pork also tastesamazing, especially in their buns. The funeral potatoes are prepared in a rolled up, breaded, and fried form, and were TO DIEFOR. Never thought I'd love funeral potatoes more than in their vanilla fashion. Somehow, they pulled it off, and I find myselfcraving more. The place has been renovated and looks fantastic. The decor is superb, with walls nicely decorated and tableslooking inviting and clean. It gives a cozy, country feel, and yet is quite casual and spacious. At first I thought it felt alittle crammed, with the long lunch line standing next to tables. Then I discovered the upstairs dining area with a plethora oftables and seating. NEGATIVES: Just to be clear, this isn't so much of a complaint as it is simply mentioning that it didn'tstand out quite as much as the other foods... but the potato salad and Mac n cheese were just decent. Not terrible, but again, simply OK. The price seems high, but the quality is pretty fantastic, so I'm ok with that. PRICE: about $14 per person, whichcomes with your choice of meat (chicken, brisket, pulled pork, turkey), 2 sides, and a drink. Read more
