Second time I've been for brunch and it's soooo good. Brought home a peanut butter cheesecake bar and a death by chocolate... brownie, they are both delicious ???? on top of that, bakes by the lake made my wedding cake 3 years ago and we have been goingback ever since. This place is amazing!!! I hadn?t stopped by because I?m not gluten free and I find that sometimes gluten free bakery can be a... bit dry. We had brunch today and by far it was hands down my favourite vegan meal! There was so much on the plate and it was sowell presented. Excellent value. The carrot cake slice I had was to die for. This is my new favourite spot as not only the foodis good but the location is great and it is beautifully decorated. Read more
We had a baby shower at Bakes by the Lake this weekend and it was phenomenal. None of us are gluten free or dairy free eaters,... but the food, space and staff were so incredible we chose to have the shower here. The time and care that was put into the foodand ensuring we had a great time was so appreciated. The prices were very reasonable, and there was a small fee for renting outthe outdoor patio. We looked into a number of other restaurants for our event but none were as accommodating or as kind to dealwith as Bakes by the Lake. Amazing spot for brunch and my fav in Orillia! The food was amazingggg we ordered the chickpeas omelette and blueberry waffles... to share, not only the taste was superb but also the presentation of each plate was soo appealing. I honestly can't say enough good things about this cute little bakery that is set to expand into a Tea Room too. The staff are... warm, welcoming and very helpful, I'm sure when covid restrictions allow it all the tables will be filled. We tested out thelemon bar, chocolate orange brownie and the fruit bar The fruit bar is described, by my non GF, non plant based, husband as outof this world. We were lucky enough to grab one of the last flat breads and it was honestly one of the best things I've eatenin years. First time visiting here today. Lovely little shop, and beautiful decor. Got a few muffins, cinnamon buns, and a cheese... flatbread. The baked items were delicious, but the cheese bread was a great disappointment (bread was too mushy andundercooked). Good to keep in mind also, specialty goods (like these) are pricey. If you're vegan, vegetarian, gluten free, lactose intolerant, they got you covered. 10/10, highly recommend. If you need a... custom cake for a birthday or special occasion, they do that too.
