I have to be very careful about where I dine due to a rare anaphylactic allergy - State and Main always goes above and beyond to... make me feel at ease. I really appreciate that they are always willing to share their allergy book, and their manager Cindyalways checks in on our table and is especially diligent at checking ingredients. The kitchen staff is also super careful duringprep. As a former bartender and server, I am highly critical of the hospitality and service industry since I've worked atvarious steakhouses. The food at State and Main is always delicious and the staff is always positive and welcoming. Therestaurant maintains a very high level of cleanliness and it is one of our first choices when we dine out. I would recommendState and Main to anyone looking for a great place to eat and enjoy time out when they are in the area. Read more
I can’t say it enough…We love this place. The food is always incredible so I can’t even pick one meal over another to... suggest. They’re all amazing. I’ve met Cindy (owner) many times now since she’s opened up this location and I have to say,as a business woman myself, she is an inspiration to business women everywhere. I will continue to bring my clients to thislocation specifically forever, as the food quality and presentation, staff service and the atmosphere are always something I canjust look forward to and just enjoy rather than “wish” it was something else. Thank you as always Cindy and the amazingstaff. If I ever have a quiet moment at my table I often watch and appreciate the effort on everyone’s part as they worktogether for such an experience. The shrimp and truffle rigatoni brings to mind ideas of a rich and velvety sauce that coats the pasta when you read the... description on the menu. Unfortunately it's a much thinner affair that pools to the bottom of the bowl and leaves the pastanaked. It does look impressive when it comes to the table but I would recommend eating something else with it as the pasta islarge without being substantial, I ended up needing to stop for a snack on the way home from our date night. Speaking of mydate, they got the grilled cheese burger, I believe, and it was very quickly cleaned up. They loved it! We also shared thejalapeno mac and cheese appetizer which was excellent. Our server gave us water right away and was very knowledgeable about thedrink menu - especially the local tap section. I want to give it a higher rating, as the rest of the evening was very good, butI can't seem to get past my entree. That being said, I would happily go here again and would perhaps try a meatier main as itappears those dishes have a better portion. Read more

Oh my goodness! What a great restaurant. We partnered with them for a high school reunion and it was fantastic. Manager Cindy... and her team of HARD working servers hustled to seat many more who attended than we expected. Good food, great servers andwonderful customer service. Highly recommend. Read more
We came to the city on Vacation. We went to this place for dinner. The food was really not good. We left some of the dishes as... they came to us. They brought one of the orders in a used plate. The Pepsi has 0 taste. I wish they were better with customerservice and food quality. Read more
Ordered two meals, the sirloin steak with mashed potatoes and veggies, and the pistachio crusted fish with rice and veggies. The... steak was ordered medium rare, but came more well done than anything and was incredibly burnt, the middle of the steak was veryrubbery and had the same texture as really cheap bubblegum, the mashed potatoes weren't bad but were cold, and the asparaguscame in the same side of the container as the steak and also tasted like it was recently on fire. The fish had no flavour andwas also incredibly burnt and the rice was overdone. First and last time eating here. The prices do not match the quality offood you actually get. We both tried to eat our meals but couldn't enjoy it enough to get more than a few bites in. Was reallyexcited to try this place for my birthday and was really let down. Read more
Went out for dinner here for the first time with my girlfriend. Our wonderful servers (Josie and Emily) were extremely kind and... attentive! I have a severe peanut and nut allergy-- most times I go to a restaurant and the immediate response is "we can'tguarantee anything", but our servers here were quick to check with the cooking staff to make sure my food was safe for me toeat. Excellent service. Also, the food was positively delicious, and the atmosphere in here is to die for. Couldn't recommend abetter restaurant to eat at if you happen to be in Orillia.
