I have been here several times and the food is always excellent. Tonight I had one of the best vegetable fried rice dishes I... have ever eaten. This is also the go-to place for my vegan son since many of the items are either vegan or can be made vegan. Iwould recommend this for anyone looking for a break from the steady Cape diet of fried seafood and pizza. Good service with goodfood. Read more

Great food and interesting ambiance! We thoroughly enjoyed both our main dishes and the homemade exotic flavored ice cream. A... real plus is that almost all menu items can be made gluten-free! You will do well to visit Abroad. We will definitely be back. Read more

What a fabulous discovery to find Abroad while running errands in Orleans and looking for something different for lunch. Greeted... warmly by Melissa, we sat in their covered outdoor space with funky furnishings and a Zen-like vibe. Felt like we were inHarvard Square. Food was an interesting mix of ethnic bites done quite well. We started with creamy tzatziki and smoky babaghanoush, followed by Five Spice tofu, a bean and cheese taco, and the Bun Cha. The hot sauce sampler was a great add, too (andwatch out for The Truth, it?s flaming!). The Bun Cha was a light, fragrant Vietnamese dish, only wish I?d known it was servedcold and that it had more rice noodles and a bit more sauce to bring the flavors together. Still, everything was tasty, fresh, expertly executed, and service was excellent. Anxious to return and try more! Read more

A hidden gem, Abroad is one of those places I?ll be thinking about and returning to over and over. On a quiet corner in Orleans,... this spot gives you a glimpse of what?s in store as you circle the building towards the back-entrance. Eclectic, travel-inspireddecor greets you throughout your experience to match this restaurant?s great concept. Friendly and efficient staff, aninteresting menu and great drinks selection are waiting when you arrive. The food is, in short, excellent. We had worried thatsuch a varied menu would lack cohesiveness but we were pleasantly surprised. The chef obviously wants to offer variety but hasput thought into creating a menu that works well no matter what combination you order. The green papaya salad and Kafta werehighlights, but honestly everything was perfectly prepared and delicious. We?re looking forward to our return visit already, andare so glad to have found this unique addition to the local scene. Read more

Had a wonderful evening exploring a potpourri of flavors and excellently prepared dishes this evening. Abroad excels in bringing... a variety of options to fit both our pallets (me a more traditional New Englander and my wife from the Caribbean!). Afterstudying the menu a bit (lots of unusual sounding names) we easily found a set of 6 small plates to share that were foods welike but in temptingly interesting spices and preparations (lamb, pork, scallops and others). We?ve always loved tapasrestaurants (also small plates) so this format was one we enjoy (3-4 small plates to share, per person in your group). Abroad, though, is not confined to Spanish cuisine and instead draws from Israel, Ireland, Asia, South America, and brings an authentictaste of each to the Cape. Some are spicier or more seasoned than others, as per the custom for that cuisine, and some mayassociate that with saltiness. Instead we found a variety of tastes that we?ve experienced at various restaurants in NYC or theCaribbean. A lovely, professional and welcoming staff, and a winning menu, at an affordable price (6 small plates between thetwo of us came to about $30 each, plus drinks). We will definitely be back! Read more
