Love great and unique food and Greektown Taverna does not disappoint! Today I tried a few of their specials and WOW!!! I had a... cup of the absolute best New England Clam Chowder ever... Not too thick, not too loose, literally just perfect. Next was theirGyro Pita Pizza (pictured below) w/ Gyro meat slices, Mozzarella, Arugula, Feta Cheese, Pickled Red Onion and topped with ascrumptious Fig drizzle... I pray this makes it's way to their regular menu!!! I never eat desert at lunch but simply could notresist the Lemon Custard w/Filo (Galaktoboureka) and it was to die for! The staff and atmosphere are right on par with theamazing quality meal they prepared.... all together, less than $25... unbelievable. Read more
This was our first dining experience at Greektown Taverna last night. My husband and I had the gyro dinner. The gyro was tender... and flavorful. Hands down the best gyro we?ve had in a long time. I chose the peas and rice pilaf. My husband had the peas andGreek potatoes. The peas had a wonderful Greek seasoning and the Greek potatoes were golden brown and delicious. The server wasfantastic! Awesome Greek food and awesome service. We tried the Saganaki, Dolmades with Horiatiki salad and Lamb gyros. Everything was... cooked perfectly and the taste was authentic. Yesterday was my first visit to this restaurant. I can't say enough about our service. In a large group sometimes service is... not the best, but Scott brought his A game to work with him. Every request was attended to quickly with great respect. He wasvery knowledgeable and gave us great recommendations. I ordered the Chicken Corfu, which was outstanding. I also ordered theSpanakopita, (spinach and feta pie with filo crust). I could seriously eat this for a meal!!! I had never had Greek foodbefore, but I am ready to go back and try some more. I had the Greek sampler. Food has good flavor and the portions are sufficient. Prices were a tad high but may be due to recent... inflation. I'm giving three stars due to food presentation; in, the food on the sampler was jammed on top of each other. Read more
Hummus & Greek Salad were excellent. The gyro's we're chock full of meet. I didn't like the cucumber sauce but my mom did.
I meant to take a photo before I started eating but the food looked so good I completely forgot. All the food we got was so very... good. I got the stuffed chicken and my husband got the lamb, both were very well cooked and tasted great. The desserts were alsovery good. The service was very friendly and fast, the resturant is very clean and well decorated. It was a great date night Iwould recommend to anyone who loves greek food. Read more
