As a female Veteran I have enjoyed Veteran's Day dining at Appleby's for over 5 years. This year was absolutely awful. The... difference between this year and previous years was I went with my daughter... there were no men at my table. All around us male veterans were receiving top notch service. Us on the other hand were left alone for over 20 minutes before anyone asked usif we needed anything. It took 15 minutes after we asked for to go boxes for them to arrive with our bill. No one came to getour bill and my card so we decided to leave only for me to get sent back to our table, in a packed house with people older thanme waiting outside, to have my server take my card. That took an additional 10 minutes and 10 minutes for her to bring me myreceipt to sign. All around me male veterans were in and out in half the time, with polite smiles. I also was not given the$5.00 come back card because those were for "real veterans". Never have I been so humiliated. It was the first time in my lifeI did not leave a tip. Usually have decent service here but this last weekend we did not. We decided to take our kids here to eat a early dinner on... Sunday and when we walked in we were greeted with a smile and seated right away by the hostess. We sat in the big booth in thecorner. Our waitress was not rude but she she?s a bad at her job. Our drinks took longer than they should of and our maincourses came out about five minutes after our appetizer arrived. She did not check on us at all. We all had empty drinks. Noneof us got one refill. She delivered our food to the table and took off really fast. We needed ranch and forks. We needed to goboxes and had to flag her down. Like we hate that, we shouldn?t have to flag you down to get something. She was not friendly atall like she was having a bad day or something. We are a family of five, check on your table. Prob won?t go back. My food wasok, my daughters kid menu food was gross. Her yogurt was warm and her Mac and cheese was dry and did not taste good. Our billwas 119 for some mediocre food. Read more
I will NOT eat here again. We arrived to find a small lunch crowd inside, so not super busy. We were seated at a table then... waited over 5 minutes for someone to take our drink order. Another 10 minutes went by and we had to flag down our server totake our food order, and ask about our drinks which had yet to be received. Finally received our food but we were not tooimpressed. I had Chinese chicken salad ($14.00) and my lunch partner had chicken tenders ($12.00) and onion ring appetizer($8.00). Add two drinks ($3.50 each for soda) which totalled up to $46.00, for lunch. Can't give a 5 star review based in tonight's experience. Hanna the bartender claimed to call last call and refused to allow us... to order more drinks. Kara our waitress tried to fix the issue with no luck. She did give us a discount, however I don't plan onreturning. Read more
The waitress was extremely kind and had a great sense of humor. She frequently came back to check on me and my family.... Additionally she frequently came to check our drink and replaced them swiftly unless we didn't want anymore to drink. Most ofthe waitresses even recognized my parent and I thought that was amazing.
