Only pub I could find open past midnight in downtown Oshawa! Friendly place decent choice of beers
Found service welcoming and obliging. It's clean, great entertainment on a usual basis, and there's never a shortage of... eye-candy in the multiple monitors The General offers to watch, especially with multiple channels playing. The quality of beeris worth the price, there's cheap pool in a semi-private area that opens up with a break for seating. A gambling machine canbring in wins that really do pay out a cash bonus if perhaps the person was lucky, and most often is a community of peopleavoiding the dramas of life, enjoying each other's company in celebratory fun, from each visit I've enjoyed, personally...Theonly criticism I'd give is the price of a regular pitcher, other than that, it's worth the friendly price!!! Great place for a cold drink and live entertainment the staff is very friendly also.
This is no longer the former glorious Thirsty Monk but just a shell of what use to be amazing establishment. The food is... disgusting and extremely overpriced along with the drinks. Numerous. Cockroach issues throughout the past few years. The onlything that's half decent is the staff. Other than that, avoid this place at all costs!!! Read more
Cant really say anything since I didnt eat their food or did I drink any alcohol. The washroom is terrible, the pub itself was... small and very run down looking. The people at the bar look like all locals. I only had an ice tea but that had an long hairin it. If I have other options I will never come back to this place. Read more
Went a few years ago late and almost got stabbed. I guess that?s just the Shwa so whatever. Very low quality clientele after 10... pm on weekends. I never had the food so that could be good so I?ll credit an extra star, but I mean I would probably go north alittle if you want to feel safe. Read more
I?ve been to this bar many times and it?s always been a good experience, we went in last night to two servers - only about 20... guests so not crazy busy. We waited about 15 minutes to even be acknowledged and when we did get acknowledged the one serversaid ?I?m off and yet I?m still here? we ordered our drinks and waited another 20 minutes for them to come, at that point I wasfrustrated and just asked for the bill, which you guessed it, another long wait of 10 minutes. I know that sometimes business?get busy with huge crowds but this was not huge crowds it was a comfortable amount of people. Usually bobby is working, a wellknown bar tender for us when being there and even pre Covid when the bar was actually PACKED I have never had to wait to feelacknowledged we always get at least a hello, feel bad for someone because they had to stay late?? (That was unprofessional) orwait an absurd amount of time just to get our 4 single drinks. You?ve had way better staff like bobby who can handle thepressure of a small crowd and on a Friday night deciding against using probably your biggest asset? Will likely try a bar thatcan serve us in a reasonable amount of time next time. Have such a sour taste in my mouth after last night. Read more
