!!! zero stars !!! From the front door it was terrible. Dirty entrance...literally DIRT on the half wall. The plants were dying,... no sanitizer in either stand and no hostess. Some young girl from 15-20 feet away held up 2 fingers at us then started walkingto an overcrowded section. We asked to be seated where there was more light. She accommodated without speaking amd lookedconfused by the request. The waitress was pleasant but needed more training on food knowledge and simple hospitality skills. Shenever checked in us, no coffee fill up (@2.75 each!!) And put the bill on the table when I wasn't even half into my meal. And,no, she was not done her shift. She continued to wander around. Now,...the food. This place has really gone down hill. Ourmeals were brpught to our table by someone from the kitchen. I had to flag down the waitress to get out toast. The potatoes werea mix of very well done hard bits and very undercooked chunks. I asked for over medium- specifically saying no runny whites.Let's just say, they were very snotty eggs. Both my husband and myself had overcooked, dried out sausages and their 'rye' toastwas very think slicesd, barely warm pumpernickel? This place is now on our "do not go" list. Oh !! Me and my husband go here once a week or every other for breakfast. We live by and pass a bunch of other breakfast places on the... way, but we prefer this one. Service is always good, the regular server we usually see is so funny & nice, food is always yummyand good portions. I like that they don?t deep fry their home fries, & their rye bread is so thick and delicious. Read more
I took my dad here for lunch when we were in the area. Parking is plenty and it's free which is nice. Due to covid this location... has limited seating to allow for social distancing. Service is quick as they have plenty of staff and the wait wasn't toolong. Staff is friendly and accommodating and once they take your order it's usually a quick service. Breakfast was tasty andordered exactly to request. One downside is how busy it was we didn't get a refill on the coffees but the waters held us by.Overall we enjoy the sunset franchise and adore the generous portions. This is yet another breakfast franchise restaurant. That being said, I?ve never been disappointed with a meal at Sunset. This... location had very friendly service and well maintained facilities. Good breakfast spot (chain) located in north Oshawa. It was pretty busy when we went, but they seated us quickly. I had the... breakfast poutine which was pretty good. Not the particular restaurants fault, but the chain - they should really be usingcheese curds with it. Would make a big difference. A little bit more lemon in the hollandaise would also be appreciated. Theyhad a crab cake Benny as well that looked interesting, but didn?t list where the crab was from and were unable to tell me when Iasked, so I opted for the poutine instead. My friends all enjoyed their meals and my vegan friend was glad to see a savouryvegan option on the menu. I would recommend that the hosts start taking names so that you know which order to seat ppl (or atleast plan based on # of ppl) because they didn?t do that and they tried to serve another customer before us because theyweren?t keeping track. Went here early on Sunday, the server was very nice lady, coffee was just okay nothing special. Had the french connection which... was french toast, 3 eggs and home fries with sausages. French toast was good, home fries were just okay. Sausages and eggs weresmall. The atmosphere itself was also not bad. Prices aren't that bad. Love the pure maple syrup, it comes in neat little bottlewhich you can take home but the cost is alittle over 2 dollars. Read more
This is a great place for breakfast. The server even offered a meal alternative that got me more bang for my buck. Prompt... service and bottomless coffee....what more could I ask for? Read more
