THEY CHANGED THE FRIES!!! Their fries were the best, even though they would constantly cheat you out of a full container (Don't... bother ordering large because you ain't gettin' a large, man!). If there is any problem with your food, like the fry ripoff, youbetter hold onto that receipt or they will not replace it. We were charged an extra $10 for fries, salad, bread to go along withribs. They didn't put these in our bag. My DH called, was told to mention it next time. We did, the two people at the countedacted like we were trying to get free food. We didn't have the receipt, so we're just SOL. Anyway, back to the fries -- themain reason I go to Protillo's is because I literally CRAVE their fries. Well, I did. Now they are thin, tasteless, and turnvery tough when they cool. Kind of like sticks of cardboard. Their system for mobile app and delivery orders is insanely slowand disorganized. Your food sits on the counter while staff stands around looking confused. You must wait in a line until theysort out what's what, and print sticker labels for some bizarre reason, there's already a paper copy... For delivery orders, they put your cold drink in with your hot food! If you order through a delivery service your food WILL be cold, and it's not thedriver's fault. My advice: NEVER order in advance! And buy your fries across the street. And there is no way to make notes onthe mobile about food allergies. Images: 2 ripoff containers of skinny, tough, cardboardy fries (no, they didn't fall out intothe bag) Read more

Portillo?s is not what it used to be. The food, though not as good as it used to be, is still fine. The service on the other... hand is lacking. We waited 25 minutes the other day for burgers and fries. Won?t be going back. Read more

I came in with an allergy order because I have a gluten allergy. The cashier and manager were great about it. But then I got... home and my order was completely wrong. The bag said chili cheese dog with no bun, and they gave me a Chicago dog (no bun atleast). You?d think if the bag had an allergy alert on it the person making the order would pay more attention. Fingers crossedI don?t get sick ???????? Read more

The reason it is important to write this review is because a particular person who works their went above and beyond. I believe... his name is Jesus or Jose. It was loud in the restaurant and he was aerating a mask. He is the busboy. He was going aroundasking if he could take away anything we were finished with. He was very polite. Even talking a little to the customers but notoverdoing it. A great balance. I asked him his name and he told me. His name tag was turned a little because he was carrying abus bin. Here is the amazing part. He asked my name. I told him and he said it was nice to meet me. We finished about 15 minuteslater. We are leaving the restaurant and he says ?goodby John, Have a nice day. ? unbelievable customer service! Of course thefood was great. But that level of service has to be recognized. Read more

Ordered food for delivery through UberEats... They were out of the chocolate cake shake, so I asked for a strawberry instead,... and they gave me a vanilla shake. My order was missing SEVERAL items. A burger, an order of cheese fries and a tamale. The onionrings and fries were both over cooked, hard and burned. I spent 30 mins and 3 phone calls later with UberEats trying to rectifythe issue. By the time I got to my sandwich, it was ice cold. We hadn't been to Portillos in YEARS and decided to splurge forour 12 year anniversary, should have just made dinner at home. Read more

Woozer!! First time here. Was told it was a must. Did not disappoint. The beef was amazingly tender, juicy and delicious. The... cheese fries were good and the chocolate cake shake was out of this world. ( a shake made with a piece of cake) Service was fastand very friendly. How do more people not know about this place?? If you get the chance try the food here. This is gonna be aplace I stop at every chance I get. Read more

Portillos is usually pretty good, but the night we went was just bad. The woman taking our order had to bring over a manager to... help her, and it took a long time. My dad asked for a tamale and a chili cup, but got a tamale IN a chili cup. Then he and I hadboth asked for the regular cups, filled with water (we try not to drink soda when we go out) and we made sure the woman takingour order knew what we meant, and she said she did because she "worked there for 15 years," but we still ended up with theteensy weensy water cups they give you when you want water. We were willing to pay for the bigger cup, that wasn't an issue andwe even said as much, but I guess she knew better than us, right?? Then when my dad went back to get an actual chili cup, sinceNOTHING in his order was right, the woman started telling him how to order. We've gone to Portillos for years, and he's alwaysordered the same way. Talk about being talked down to. It really ruined my dad's night. As for my order, I had a gift card for afree salad. I'd never had their salads before and got the house salad. It was enormous and full of random stuff. It was okay, the flavor was interesting, but something was bizarrely spicy in there that I can't put my finger on. I got sick of that saladbefore finishing even half of it. I was pretty disappointed with my meal. So between a fourth of our order being wrong, beingspoken down to by an employee (who I'm sure meant well, but still, it ruined my dad's vibe for the whole night) and the meal Igot being really meh, this was probably one of the worse experiences I've had at Portillos. Probably won't go back soon. Read more
